So are you taking all the Piedmont routes in LGA or just some of them? I think most of us are happy to get out of LGA but for some of the guys base there, they might not be so happy. Our management at PDT hasn't told us anything about this. Hope this gets some of your pilots back in their seats, we just hope it doesn't have a negative effect for us.

I'm glad that this probably means XJ fo's will probably get off the street but this is a very very sad day for Piedmont. Just one more nail in our ever shrinking coffin.

At least another crew will get to see how "awesome" our crew room is. . .

History lesson. Or at least this was the theory when I was there.

Colgan's at-risk contract with US Airways from 1999 stipulated certain cities that Colgan was exclusive to, including ITH, SYR, CHO, MHT, ACK, MVY, ORF and PVD. What the exclusivity clause says is the Colgan or it's Parent (Pinnacle) can "lease" the flying back to US Airways at a premium. During the fuel spike of late 07-08 Colgan began pulling back from these markets. They "leased" the routes to US Airways who assigned PDT to the flying. That is why you see Colgan come back every now and again to do this flying.

Awesomely awful is a more accurate description... then again I am spoiled and don't like sharing crewrooms with crews from 6 other companies. <sarcasm>

other than IAD, all of those routes were formerly CJC routes. Right now PDT just started doing IAD-LGA this month if i'm correct. All of them went over to PDT i believe. It's good news for mesaba to find homes for some of the saabs. It's old news for PDT to be losing flying again. I know that some CJC guys would be interested in bidding it once we have a merged list seeing that we used to have a sizeable base there. CJC also does the seasonal flying out of there to MVY and Nantucket.

It's kind of funny now how our NYC bases are lining up.

CJC at EWR - Q400
PCL at JFK - CRJ200
MSA at LGA - SF340

What a tangled web we weave...
