Default Headset for the EMB 145???

I'm looking for a heatset since mines are not TODs (Zulus, which i love them )

Anyway...I hear that the EMB-145 is noisy...so

Suggestions???

PS: I'm not planing to use the company for long, just until I figure out what to get.

When I flew the 145, I used my Bose. It helped a ton and wouldn't want anything different. I remember taking off my headsets in cruise a couple times to hit the lav and it sounded like I was in a tornado! Definitely suggest a pair of some ANR's or wear some ear plugs under your david clamps.

Use the ones provided in the aircraft. DC's are fine...

Whatever you decide, they are supposed to be TSOd.

I think that any over the ear ANR would be fine. If you can swing something nicer like the Bose A20 or the Lightspeed Zulu you would really enjoy it. 8 hours a day in the DC clamps is pretty miserable.

So a Telex 750 or anything light like that would be pretty tough in an RJ?

The guys I know that go that route are usually wearing ear plugs underneath them.

The WSCOD is EXTREMELY loud in cruise. Most say it's the wipers although I heard that's bit of an urban legend. Don't know, don't care. About the only time it's tolerable without a headset is when it's in the .70 range.

Using a 750/850 in an ERJ is risky business; the person you're flying with will most likely murder you before the first five minutes are up. If you manage to survive those initial five minutes, not to worry, you'll die of an aneurysm shortly thereafter due to the combined lack of ANR and the screaming mic wind noise feeding right back into your ear which sounds like the shrills of hundreds of women after Oprah announces she's giving something away.

In all seriousness, I've used a Bose X and I'll swear up and down by it all day long. Bose make awful speakers, but their headsets and customer service are equally awesome.

I don't know about the wipers but the whole thing sucks. The cockpit is mostly stolen from the Bro that is considerably slower. It's like driving a KIA at 170mph.
