To be honest, some move and rent an apartment, some have crash pads, stay in an airport hotel, some even sleep in their cars in the parking lot, but many of us that commute to FAT (including some FAs), spend the night in the crew lounge if our trip ends late in FAT, or we commute in the night before. Surprisingly the crew lounge is large, plus there is a shower in the bathroom. The most I have seen spend the night in the crew room was 8. Just frowned upon where there have been reserves LIVE in the crew lounge for their multi day reserve periods.

The trips that end late in FAT, where you miss the late LAX flight on Eagle, SFO, LAX on SkW, most just crash in the crew lounge till the first flights out the next morning. Plus our Fresno "DEN MOTHER" is the BEST.....

More info, latest beat from the jungle drums...

Starting to hire into the CRJ, as well as the Bro.

Recent interview group half 121/135, half CFI

Typical times > 1500, with at least several hundred ME.

Internal recs are vital right now.

So how junior does SBP go? I realize you have to cover both SBP and SMX. What's a day in a life for a reserve on the Bro?

And what are the flight benefits for SKW? Do you get both DL and UAL or just which ever flying you normally do? I'm familiar with DL benefits, so no need to explain that all out.

Whats the chance of getting SLC out of training?

BHopper88 02-01-2011 08:37 AM

You get UA and DL travel. UA is pretty much the same as DL benefits, but you have to pay for first class, and BUDDY PASSES ARE $$$$$ (not really worth it).
SBP has become a senior base with the latest SBA closure. SLC is quite possible now with all those transitioning to the CRJ in the next few months.

As for day in the life of reserve, the best person to ask is NEWTY, he knows what its REALLY been like on reserve on the bro.

Since there is hiring onto the CRJ, what is the hope of the RJ in ORD?

This is my #1 choice, it's not not about the aircraft for me, it's about the base.

If you got on pretty soon, with them running a jet class a month you'd probably get ORD within a few months, if not right away.

8 of the CRJ, UAL furloughee, new-hires were awarded ORD right out of training.

Just scheduled an interview with SkyWest for Feb. 16th. Just booked a room at SLC Comfort Inn Airport Suites for the night of Feb 15th, two queen beds non smoking. It is about as close as you can get to the Interview, and I already got the SkyWest rate. PM me if you're interested in splitting a room.
