So I was flying with this one Captain, and he told me this story about how his FO was flying. And all of the sudden they seen some birds, and the FO was like OMG we just hit that bird, the pitot tube caught its nut sack. He claims they hit a bird in the nut sack. Possible?

And plenty think the 9L plan stinks, and the XJ plan stinks. It's all in viewpoints.

I hate to even say it (again) but seems like if XJ wasn't taken over; 9E and 9L would still be groveling for a contract. 9L would still be contracts away from one of the quality that they have now on contract #1. Who knows when 9E would have ever gotten another TA to even vote on. So, XJ loses the flow and it's upcoming negotiations. They already got hosed. The SLI will most likely be another kick in the junk. But we'll see.

Haha, the 9E plan even put me below most pinnacle FO's and I'm a 900 Captain. We all operate similar equipment, on similar routes, and at similar rates of pay. When that's the case DOH is the only fair way to go. Any other methods are seeking a leg up for some unjustifiable reasons.
In short, at first glance, Mesaba's proposal was the best rapid fire solution. In the end, I think a blending of DOH (post 05/06 ish folks) and relative (for the pre 05/06 ish folks) would be more equitable. (Take that for what it is worth) (for the record, I would fall into the DOH range of my plan) |
In fact Mesaba turboprop FO's were making more than Pinnacle JET FO's prior to the JCBA. In fact they still make more in some cases under the grandfathered rates. |
