In this case, the CQFO is not truly BY-PASSED, he has chosen domicile over upgrade b/c his seniority cannot hold CA in his chosen base.
Incorrect.
If the CQFO in this example left the junior base OFF of his bid all together, there would be no bypass.
But if they just have the junior base as a lower priority on their bid, they'd still be awarded it ahead of a junior pilot, regardless of where on the junior pilot's bid they have it.

And if it's not one of the above, then it's a pretty f☆☆☆☆☆ up situation.

Im simply speculating here but a few fos including myself had upgrade bids in and cqfos junior to us got direct upgraded instead of a class being run. That was a very questionable move that assigned vacancies out of seniority order but when the union was asked to look into it, was determined to not be illegal because no official class was run. It is possible that December was the opposite of this. Also the december class was run specifically because in order to hire cqfo's our contract requires that an upgrade class be run once a quarter or at a certain percentage of all vacancies filled in that quarter must be filled be actual upgrades not cqfo conversion.

This dance between upgrades for fo's and direct upgrades for cqfos has been a weird one and some questionable things have been occuring.

However i can say with certainty from my own inquiry with the union that a bypass occurs only when a CQFO is hired and takes a place in a class and fills a vacancy that would have been filled by a normal upgrade of the company did not hire cqfos.

So if TSA hires 1 CQFO than the number 1 person on the upgrade list who was not awarded a class or captain vacancy is bypassed and so on and so fourth.

Assignment of upgrades out of senority order is a section 24 (or whichever section in the cba covers awarding of vscancies) issue straight up and in the opposite case that occurred in October it was determined the company did not violate section 24 although no grievance was persued because it would have lost.

Suppsedly the next hard upgrade class after december will be in march so if i were a betting man i would guess it would follow the same pattern that occured in September and October and since a hard class is being run in december then there will be direct upgrades for cqfo's and no traditional upgrades in January followed by nothing in February and another traditional class in March.

But again this is only logical conjecture bassed on the company's previous behavior.

Right now all new hires are going to STL. That could potentially change with the opening of RDU if it goes junior. Reserve time is averaging about 2 months.

Default LogTen Pro

Has anyone determined if there is an easy way to download flight info into LogTen Pro from the Trans States site or CrewWeb or Flica? I think there might be a way to export some fairly generic stuff from Flica, but I'd like to get more detailed info, such as flight crew, etc.

Thanks

I do too. Mccpilotlog pulls info right off sabre crew track. Keeping up the logbook is easy.

So Mcc pulls the times from crew track, and then you go in and adjust IMC time, night time, ect??? Is that essentially how it works? I'm looking at getting this also.

It pulls flight times from crewtrac. It knows the sunset/sunrise times. So it knows when to start logging night time. When it comes to imc, I select 10 percent, so it auto calculate imc.
