Slightly above average. Important things is that we are moving in the right direction.

How so? Do you think someone hired today will enjoy the same movement as someone a year ago? I know that growth is coming, but I do worry about the 50 seat configuration. Not from a pilot's perspective, but it seems like the industry is evolving towards larger regional aircraft. How Will TSA continue to be a player while operating outdated equipment?

fair enough..... just looking for some info on the contract.

1. What do you like about the contract, or think is a decent/fair/good provision?
2. What do you dislike or think really sucks about the contract. (Besides payscale)

Thanks

With the opening of rdu, there will be a lot of movement. Plus there are quite of bit of captains moving on. You can worry all you want about 50 seaters. But look how many are flying today. Carriers are bringing them out of the desert. All you can really do, is do your job.

If there's anyone that can be a player while operating outdated equipment it's Tsa. That's actually the story of Tsa. I can tell you exactly what's going to happen in the future with this company, nothing at all. They will fly these planes until they can't anymore even if it's 10 planes held together with DMI stickers. If you want a good future and bigger planes go elsewhere. This is just a small mom and pop place you do your time and move on from, think Great Lakes.

Since when did regional "redeyes" become a thing? These overnight pairings look awful.

Can any recent trainees at TSA PM me with some info? I have a CJO and I'm looking at going to the Feb 1st class. I'd like to know the training footprint that you guys had. The answers that I've been getting from HR are pretty vague. Basically that it's just a 90 day footprint. I'd like to know a more EXACT timeline. I know everything is subject to change but... How many weeks is ground school? How many weeks are sims? LOFT Sims? IOE? Time off in between? Delays? Time between IOE and the beginning of reserve? The more details the better. I need to plan out everything for the months I'll be gone. Any other advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I doubt anything has changed these last few years. Takes about two months to go through sim and maybe a month to finish the ioe, since maybe there is a two week delay after sim. So 90 days sounds about right. But if you go back and review what others have talked about during ground school everything should be spot on.

5.5 weeks of ground school
3 cockpit procedures trainer sessions (1/2 week)
Maybe a few days off
8 sim sessions (more if you need it)
Checkride (usually about 2.5 weeks after starting sims)
About a week off, then IOE
Usually 2 IOE trips (25 hrs flt time)(takes roughly 2 weeks usually)
A few days off, then reserve.

Grand total about 12 weeks from start to finish. Don't expect much time off going through training, they want to get you on the line as efficiently as possible.

Welcome aboard
