By reading some of these post it would seem some out there think capitalism and competition are bad words. I'm sure if you were operating your own business you'd do it all different. All of your employees would have the best of everything, highest pay, best benefits, the business would grow nonstop etc... and of course you wouldn't compete with anyone else. -- If you like the socialist/marxist way of thinking so much why don't you move to China.
BTW, rumor has the SkyWest bid for flying the 700s came in nearly a $1000 an hour cheaper than Horizon's. Sounds a bit much to me, but I'm sure it wasn't just a savings of $30 an hour crew cost.

Where's the Delta pilot b1tching at the Airways pilot for bringing down the industry? Or the SWA pilot complaining about an jetBlue pilot? UPS vs Amerijet?
Bunch of 14 year old girls at the regionals. Wake up, stability is an illusion.

If it was all about pilot wages Mesa, and Commutair would have taken over long ago. SkyWest is full of former Horizon pilots who saw the writing on the wall. Lets face it picking which regional to work for is a total crapshoot.

Everyone would love to be paid more, however having said that SkyWest pays better than a lot of regional airlines so I fail to see how it's a race to the bottom.
Is collecting food stamps and unemployment better than making around 50k as an F/O for SkyWest better? Hey I've got a better idea lets all blame the flight instructors they're the ones really bringing things down, I mean working for horrible wages and being all non-unioney.
Also, the empty threats are lolz.
