I think I'm having an Aneurysm trying to comprehend someone leaving 100K+ for this.
Dude should have gone to the gym....working out makes EVERYTHING better....and hell you could have bought a B36 and gone sky-hopping till your hearts content.

I'm not going to say I have money, but I have enough. I want to work for the regionals. I realize it is probably the worst idea I will ever have in my life. Guna do it anyway just to be sure how bad it is then I'm going to leave.

I have been on both sides of this coin and I'm telling you, money isn't everything. I have spent more time with my wife, daughter and grandson this summer than I ever did when I made 6 figures in engineering, and this is the busy time of the year! I hope I never have to go back!

Flyerwife is a poser. Probably the owner of a flight school. Her (his) attempt is to lure middle-aged, mid-life crisis men into persuing their "dreams". Beware of flyerwife et al.
Going from 120k to 20k in salary will certainly lead to depression, nervous and social disorders, and potentially alcoholism. Shame on you flyerwife!

Where else can you build time quickly other than at a regional for 20k/year. I am looking for the time and then get out. I am open to any other avenue as well.
I do not believe in any pilot shortage, but what will happen with the 1500h rule? I do hope the law becomes a fact! Retirements? One sure thing, the next few years may be quite interesting...
