Yes, the fences apply for displacement. Suppose, for example, Pinnacle only had 541 CAs on the CRJ-200 throughout the company. No XJ guy displacing out of MEM could displace a PCL CRJ-200 Captain, because that would lower the number to 540, and PCL needs to maintain at least 541.

All of this is a moot point, because as of right now, Pinnacle has 640+ CRJ-200 Captains and 100+ CRJ-900 Captains. We are far above our ratios, and we can get displaced out the wazoo.

But he could bump the junior XJ captain in that position, even if he was senior to the junior 9E captain.

Agreed, however most Saab drivers were in the lower buckets and most don't have the seniority to bump 200 and Q drivers.

I don't believe the MEM guys can bump Q guys because the Q's are still below the quota.

Anybody esle notice how inaccurate the "present staffing" numbers are?
For example on the SAAB for Colgan in IAD the bid says that we currently have 58 CA and 65 FO. This is nowhere near accurate. On the last monthly bid we had 47 CA and 37 FO. The other saab bases for 9L are off too although not as much.

"present staffing" on the vacancy.........actual last month's bid numbers

IAH:
60 CA / 51 FO..............54/46

CRW:
7/8...........................7/5

BOS:
18/21.......................18/19

IAD:
58/65.......................47/37

I understand that some pilots may not be on the monthly bid because they are in training or on leave or something but the numbers seem way off. The vacancy shows a total of 143 SF3 CA positions we currently have. By my numbers I only show 126. WAAAY below the 152 Quota.

What gives?

You haven't looked real close at XJ Saab seniority.

Most of the captains can hold Q400 and 200 captain positions.

On the Q400, 29 XJ Saab captains are above all current Q captains and 100 have the seniority to hold captain on it.

I'd say 50-70% of the current XJ Saab captains will hold 200 captain after all of this.

You are talking about 17 pilots difference. Taking into account pilots on medical leave, military leave, training (currently a group doing IOE), check airman training buy-out, and union leave....17 seems quite possible

We really dont have that many people in training right now. And most of the guys that do union work at least in IAD were on the list.

maybe they are counting some FO's that are coming out of class or something.

but no wonder vacations are cancelled and lines have 6 day trips if 12% of captains and more FO's arent actually flying

Yea most (MSP and DTW anyway) Saab captains still there were actually well senior to the bottom jet captains because they stayed put thinking they would have (and did for a long time) better schedules on the Saab. Now they are begging to get off the Saab and take the jet seats they could have had 3 years ago. It's us on the bottom of the jet lists that will really be the ones causing all the shuffling.... Who wants to buy MY displacement?
