Default Upgrade Times

Just curious what the typical upgrade times from FO to PIC at different regionals seem to be right now?

Cheers

It is about 5 years, 7 months at ExpressJet, but will probably increase to about 6 years before it drops down again.

Anywhere from 6 months to 20 years depending on who you ask and who you believe.

Upgrade time no longer matters because you're in one of 3 groups.

1) Already have your "majick" 1000 and are already upgraded
2) Are about to upgrade and will just barely have enough time to get your 1000
3) Won't even have time to get your 1000 after you upgrade (if you even do) before you are hired by a major.

This is only a slight joke.

CommutAir is sitting at about 3 years or so, but because of a dry hiring spell, has the possibility to be down almost overnight to about 1.5 - 2 years later this year depending on how many upgrade classes occur. This is one of the shorter ones I've heard. The longest is most definitely Comair, after the downgrades, it's estimated at 20 years or so.

Eagle is currently 4.7 years. Should continue to decrease in the next months.

AFAIK, the May/June upgrade class was a mix of the 3 years and the 1.5 year guys, so it's dropped already.

The sad part is that I make more as an FO at another regional than a CommutAir Captain.
