Yes but look at our contract/payrates/soft pay/min day/ ability to bid equipment... Its night and day difference here at 9L (soon to be known as Mesaba). Q Capt rates top at 119, Q FO rates at 48hr. And FO starting pay is 27hr, in Dec starting pay bumps to 31hr.
The Reverend, isnt going to let your railroad union at RP negotiate anywhere near our rates and work rules.

This is coming from someone that got turned down by Great Lakes! If you have forgotten, go back and read your own posts and notice what you said about Colgan. A month later you apply and then all of a sudden you become Miss Mesaba. I really like your mentality of "My crappy regional is better than your crappy regional." It seems like you applied at Republic and got turned down! Aviation is a small world and what goes around comes around. I am sure you are a joy to fly with.

You Colgan people should know better than anyone that the bottom feeder of the industry can become an average player with the stroke of a pen. I remember when the Q400 was still just a doodle on some Canadian's desk, Colgan was the joke of the industry, Chuck was still personally hiring street captains, and Comair was the place to be. In your stellar less than year long career you got turned down by Great Lakes and everywhere else, the pilot group that you were lucky enough to get hired into voted in a decent contact, and all of a sudden you feel like you have room to talk?? Grow up buddy, hate to break it to you but once the awesomeness of the turboprop you're tooling around in wears off you'll realize that all regionals suck. Also remember that your contract is brand new. Republic's has been expired for 4 years.

As for RP, I never applied. I applied to 9L (because of growth) AE, ExpressJet and SKW. 9L was the 1st to call so, thats the pony I saddled up with partner.

Thats the point. I don't hate it and I LOVE my job. However, I have friends at Colgan/Great Lakes and constantly hear how they're abused and underpaid, how they should go into another career field, how they can't pay school loans because they themselves struggle to eat ect...
If I were to loose my job today Colgan/Great Lakes and others wouldn't even be on my job prospect radar. I'd probably just go back to school and get a fall back career.
I might not have been in 121 long but I have a long family history in 121. My sister flies for Alaska, brother in law is a mech for Delta, and Dad is a retired United Capt and former KC-135 driver flew "in country" aka Vietnam. At one point he was furloughed and we had to get on food stamps!!! He's a college grad and former AF pilot, we had to rely on government assistance for about 10 months. I've seen and lived through their experiences in 121.

This was your post in July! And in August, you are hired at Colgan. Just out of curiosity, what did you tell them during the interview in July when they asked you why do you want to work for Colgan? The new contract wasn't there at that time. I don't have time right now to dig your posts about Great Lakes sending you a thanks but no thanks email but I know its there.
Easy, I was furloughed and need to find work ie fly airplanes. I told them that 9L showed the most growth potential with the addition of Q's and more Q's heading to IAH.
Mesaba was purchased by 9E and pref hiring was given to XJ pilots on 9L back in July '10. In the interview they actually brought up the fact that ALPA would be pressing for changes and a single pilot list would soon follow. Chuck said himself that what people know of the "old Colgan" will be pleasantly surprised with the steps they were making. Simple as that bubba.
I also think you'd be hard up trynig to locate a thanks but no thanks letter from GL mate. It doesnt exist "but I know its there" must make it true eh? Kinda like "I know" you're a raging cross dresser, right?
My Chit box is less smelly than your Chit box. ie 9L,9E, XJ vs your RP (and whatever other airline your company dismantles)
