Pinacolaba D-Day Round 2

Isn't that being fixed on this realignment?? With 83 new CA slots I can't see anyone being downgraded ... and those that were on the previous bid most likely won't even see the right seat before it was supposed to happen.
At least that's what our latest MEC fastread stated.

Hopefully all the colgan guys stay put and then yes the displaced saab guys fill the vacant positions and there is very little displacing and shuffling involved.

Lol, let's take a poll of 9E FO's caught behind these ridiculous fences and see how many share your sentiment of "only".

Depends on who bids the jet captain spots. If many of the vacancies are filled by colgan then most if not all of the backfilling of the props is done by colgan fo to comply with the quotas leaving the junior jet captains to have to then displace to f.o. when the saab captains who are mostly all senior except in LGA bid to the jets in thier bases. This would then push the junior jet f.o. both out of their plane and base to then fly the opened colgan saab f.o. spots. This has the potential to give just about every elligible Colgan pilot an upgrade while sending a lot of the junior pinnacle and mesaba captains back to f.o. and many junior f.o. commuting to Saab f.o.

Keep in mind also though that the number of vacancies last time was also very low. Now it is a wide open field with numerous possibilities.

It's a safe bet that junior RJ fo's and captains in all the closed saab bases will be flushed by those more senior. Don't expect anything less. Hope for the best and plan for the worst. Seniority rules, no doubt the fences will play a small part in all of this, but junior pilots will fly the lower paying equipment as it should be. Start budgeting.

I'm one of those "bubble" guys myself. Not willing to do JFK, don't even try and talk me into it- I've been watching the flights that I "would" have taken and I wouldn't make it to work. If I lose my seat and go back to FO I'd be in the top 10 for MEM 900 on the bid list. I don't want it to happen, but others and myself (junior 9E CA's and very senior 9E Fo's) will remain nervous until this bid is done and things move on.
I'm not "upset" per say, but if I happen to fly with someone who is "junior" but in the left seat due to quotas AND THEY RUB IT IN, it won't be a fun trip. Not a threat, just a hope that everyone remains professional if the outcome is lopsided.
If we make it through this bid without downgrades and quotas met, I don't see it being a calamity.
I still think that everyone needs to bid for where they "want" to be.

No one junior to you will be will be taking any of the 200 flying because the quotas are full.
Any of the XJ guys around your seniority have at least several years on you DOH wise. (edit: I was wrong, you are actually almost a year DOH wise ahead of the XJ guys around you)
With this last vacancy and the way they did it, most junior 9E captains should be safe.
I hope it's all of them. I'd hate to see anyone go backwards.
