Well, it's not going to be out soon enough to get folks through training before the SAAB disappears...
I'd say there's a lucky group of guys awaiting displacement - the senior folks, who can bid for the last training slot... they could potentially have zero company obligations on the schedule making guarantee - then making guarantee on their displacement airframe when the junior folks finish training...
Bid May! 6 month vacation.

Exactly, the longer it's delayed the more it's going to cost the company. At some point they have to realize it's in their best interest as well to not be so embarrassing.

1) Stay on certificate, so no indoc, drug testing, etc., to remain on Mesaba 200 or 900 aircraft.
2) does the grandfathered rate apply to Mesaba folks who displace into a Colgan SAAB? I'd hope so, but I doubt it...

Hm..... if you're a Mesaba guy.... do you go the easy way or the hard way?

#2 No. If you go to a Colgan base on the Saab you go at thier pay rates. The grandfather rate was only good as long as you stayed on a Mesaba based Saab (which won't exist by the end of the year) Not that it matters because with the fences only Colgan pilots will hold captain on the Saabs anyway.

#1, not an option for many of us

From the contract:
"2. The Pilot holds a Position at Mesaba on the SF340 on February 18, 2011, and is displaced to any SF340 Position. In such case, the Pilot will continue to receive the Grandfather Rate provided the Pilot has not been awarded a different Category as a result of a voluntary bid."
