Hm..... if you're a Mesaba guy.... do you go the easy way or the hard way?
1) Stay on certificate, so no indoc, drug testing, etc., to remain on Mesaba 200 or 900 aircraft.
2) does the grandfathered rate apply to Mesaba folks who displace into a Colgan SAAB? I'd hope so, but I doubt it...

If they are over the fence we can displace them.
Which, depending on how many Colgan Saab captains go to the Q400 or a jet, they should be close to being filled (fence).

#2 No. If you go to a Colgan base on the Saab you go at thier pay rates. The grandfather rate was only good as long as you stayed on a Mesaba based Saab (which won't exist by the end of the year) Not that it matters because with the fences only Colgan pilots will hold captain on the Saabs anyway.

#1 - if you've got the seniority to stay at the current Mesaba (ie the jets), would you not put that as your first displacement slot? CA or FO?
FWIW - Even though the Mesaba Jets are tentatively scheduled to become Pinnacle Jets on Dec 1st, that's as a fenced environment only... if I ran the show, that would mean that you guys would get revisions to your books instead of drug tests, PRIAS, and indoc, so that the fenced operation can gradually become Pinnacle, a la Delta/NWA...
edit: now I see your "not an option"... I am assuming that you are a CRJ900 guy, albeit junior, so the senior guys that get displaced will potentially bump you from your seat? That's what I thought the super-vacancy took care of though - so that guys at minimum stay CAs...

#2 being addressed by Bartok - don't you displace from CA to CA if you have say, DTW SF3 CA on file, but you are a CRW commuter and have CRW SF3 CA as your #2 bid? Color me clueless but - that's what I'd hope for - only if you WANTED to switch certificates....
