I know the planes themselves are different... the point is a regional pilot is a regional pilot... CRJ pilots aren't better than saab pilots (like I said... been both) EMB170 pilots aren't better than ERJ pilots... etc...

61 Colgan captains took a jet captain position.

Pretty ballsy of them to think about sitting left seat to 9E and XJ guys who really deserved that upgrade, likely with more longevity than most of them too. You can hark on professionalism all you want, but that can only go so far. Maybe we'll need more "right seat captains" after all...you colgan guys are gonna need a PhD in CRM...

Scary.
Yes us Colgan guys can't fly jets we are too dumb. I shoulda learned how to fly at purdue like u and then maybe I'd be good enough. If u will excuse me I need to go fly my Saab in the wx, I wasn't a good enough pilot to get a plane that can climb over most of it.

You don't need to be a CA to be a CP, just typed on an aircraft that is on property.

Would you honestly have done anything different if you were in that position? I obviously agree that the way the Bloch decision came down is not fair, but would you turn down the chance to upgrade if you were in that seat? I'm just glad I'm not one of those guys that went to a jet if that is seriously the attitude that's developing.

Actually I disagree. That shiny jet is a hell of a lot easier to fly than those lowly Saabs and Dashes. Sounds like somebody was hand chosen to fly the jet as a new hire.

This is going to be a serious problem for our company on the jets; specifically having ex Colgan jet captains flying with senior Pinnacle FOs with more longevity that were on the cusp of upgrade. I can only hope that everyone involved will be professional enough to prevent this from becoming a safety issue.

I agree. I'd like to think that as a whole, most would be professional enough not to hold it personally against the other person - whichever side they happened to be on. However, I'm sure it will be a very rough transition for some.
