Sorry I should have specified Saab with the APU part.

Anyway, sure seems like your prop guys want to fly a high performance machine; look at the number who bid the jet.

99% of the time the 200 is weight restricted because of landing weight issue (bad design), not a power issue. A good skipper can find ways to take full load + a jumpseater.

The JET pays more, therefore requires more skill than a turboprop, mainly due to it being a high performance machine. Let me put it like this: A Saab is like a Geo Metro, a Q400 is like a station wagon, a JET is a like a highly tuned Ferrari Italia...

I don't wear my epaulets funny, I don't think prop guys are worse OR better, they're just pilots like I am. I do well with what I've been given, and hope that if I were awarded a different aircraft (regardless of its propulsion), I would pass with a lot of breathing room. I have the same desire for anyone else in training - I hope everyone passes the training and can fly the crap out of the aircraft they're assigned.
Jets pay more. That's why guys swap. Makes sense to me.

I'm pretty sure the first few knocks were tongue in cheek/sarcastic. Anybody who talks lesser of any general group obviously does not have the experience of flying with pilots of various backgrounds. I have flown with Military guys that can't fly their way out of a paper bag. I have flown with military pilots that are stellar. I can say the same about prop drivers, jet drivers, CFI's, Jet Uers, Riddlers, jet drivers, freight dawgs......its what the individual makes and learns of it, not the the type a/c or flying (to a degree)

Exactly, close to $1000 or more a month helps quite a bit with this wonderful Saab/ Regional airline pay

Also I have seen just as many CRJ/ ERJ pilots talk down to Tprop pilots, whats the difference or your point?
So, how about taking the high road? Don't talk down to the rest of us because of a few bad apples?

It's all about affecting change in the ranks of the unsatisfied. If you want to pick on a specific guy because he's been a jerk to you or your friends for some lame reason, go ahead, but don't lump us all.

For one, I never called SkyWest a "better" regional. Going there would be a lateral move. Two, I never cried at any point during training. Three, I interviewed at SkyWest because my girlfriend got a job in Chicago and I thought it might be nice to live in base. Four, I have a Nov 28th class date there, which I've all but decided now NOT to take as I held my seat and it seems I might actually be able to get off reserve someday here. Five, I could have taken a voluntary displacement into the jet last month if that's really what I was interested in.

I quit posting for like two months because apparently I can't say anything about anything without anonymous internet tough guys thinking they "called me out" by perpetuating some lame rumor made up buy a guy in my class who was salty that he didn't have enough multi time to fly the Q. Some of you guys enjoy being jerks SO much when your name and face aren't attached to your words and you'll never have to own up to them it's actually really sad. Whatever guys, enjoy your debate, looking forward to flying with some of you on the line. I'm logging out for good.

I was talking to some New Hires last night that are now getting bumped to the Q400, and they're all depressed because its not a jet....LOL....I have to laugh, because they have no idea that the Q400 is a far better aircraft than the CRJ200 on every level....I would love it if some day the Q would be based in MSP or ORD, I would be all over it baby!!!
