True.. but it opens positions within the XJ 900 fleet, which if under the quota can be only filled by XJ pilots.

So, we do not all move up.

How about a 5 year CA, (having already spent 4 years as FO) getting forcibly downgraded to make room for Q400 captains with 1-2 years less longevity. That didn't make your list.. it should.
Cherokeecruiser? Is that you?!

They did finish class, hence why I said "after their type ride"

Sorry I have to chime in on this. I am one of those guys. We did not CHOOSE to commute, we were displaced. It's not like I went from MEM FO to MSP CA. So you expect someone to bid back to FO for QOL, meanwhile you are ****ing up a storm about how you can't upgrade for 2 more years?????? Oh I see... you want me to go to FO to open up a CA spot for you! Stay classy. Hypocrite written all over this one! Why don't you stay an FO to preserve your precious QOL????

First of all, how long have you been at your company?

If 3 years, then this is like someone hired 2 years from now being senior to you.

If 5 years, someone hired today is senior to you.

And these XJ guys that lost 5 years of seniority also did 6+ years in the right seat.

There are only about 70 something XJ guys slated to flow, if they take it, and the 900 is over the fence for XJ, so we have to be below the fence to see any benefit. Small one at that.

Try again.

Thats what is bull. They took the snapshot on July 1. Our incompitent committee even argued in the arbitration that this is when the snapshot should take place.

Why would you argue to use numbers from when you are seriously understaffed and the other two airlines are overstaffed? Makes no sense and the other committees took advantage of the 9E Merger Committees ignorance.

The real sad part is that now when our own captains quit, XJ and 9L fos can take their place until we loose more than 50 more captains.

However, the XJ 900 captain who quit will be backfilled by XJ pilots and 9L Q and Saab captains who quit will be backfilled by 9L pilots.

If our committee was smart, they would have asked for a fence that awards the positions based on a ratio. We would have got 5 out of every 6 CRJ 200 upgrades. Instead our guys will remain FOs for the forseeable future.

In *history* this kind of award with the resulting windfall happended once: US Air and AWA. If their SLI had passed, the result would have been the same in terms of Captain movement. They decided "NO" and kicked ALPA out.

....See ya!!

This is what happens when you jump into the middle of an argument. The topic was "who has more of a reason to b*tch." Now.. from that... pick the better of these two options:
  1. Forcibly displaced to another domicile. You now have to commute.
  2. Forcibly downgraded. You get to stay at home.
99 out of 100 pilots will take the domicile change. That goes to show that a downgrade is far worse an outcome... hence, he has more right to *****.

But thanks for the kind words.
