And it's worth noting that while the -200 market isn't growing, there are shifting of contract flying from one reigonal to another. Same with the 700/900s. The DCI Pilot alliance is worthless, and they have no leverage with Delta. Delta will shift jets that it owns to anyone they think can do it cheaper. Goodbye 7 jets from ASA and 5 from Skywest = hello GoJets. Didn't US Air just give some CRJ-200/700/900 flying as US Airways Express to Skywest? This is flying that our incompetent management didn't get because our staffing is horrendous and they are far behind the curve.
Actually, I'd rather you super jet pilots fly all our Q's. We're not good enough to fly them, and we certainly don't deserve them.

Don't worry about me, I left XJ for bigger and better things way before the SLI. I would have liked to see a fair integration for my friends still there.

That should make everything better.

How many 900's / 200's (lol) are on order? Well, Conited is on the hook for 12-15 more Q's next year. See? I just made it easy for the " Professional Pilot" degree folks to figure out where the growth is and who brings what to the table. Amazing...
You do realize Menke just turned down the CR7's that just went to Goatjets? Why? Pinnacle Inc is in such a massive staffing mess right now, none of the 3 are running properly across the board. And we are about to pull 600+ pilots OFF line to be retrained. Not to mention finding enough 1000/100 hr pilots to hire into the Colgan FO spots is near impossible. We had no hope of staffing another 12 planes for at least a year. Doesn't matter if they are CR7 or DH8.

Yup... unfortunately, the CRJ-200 can't dump fuel... on the other hand... the Saab can

Only in torque motor lockout. Not the most efficient method.

just sayin' it's possible... not efficient, or even a good idea for that matter... unless you REALLY wanna get fired... in which case that'd be VERY efficient...

I honestly feel sorry for the guys who were downgraded or may be in the future. To finally think you have eaten your last pack of ramen only to go back to FO pay s#cks.

To the rest of you folks who feel you got screwed by the SLI, I respectfully suggest you start to get over it. A delay to the upgrade you have been counting on is unfortunate, but in the big picture, that is just a bump in this road we call aviation. Consider this: the country hasn't been attacked, oil isn't worth more than platinum (for the moment), you weren't furloughed, the company didn't close, and you haven't lost your medical. Having experienced all those things in my flying career, a delayed upgrade is just that: an unfortunate delay.

So, in 2007 there were a ton of folks getting hired with VERY low times. I know, that was when I was hired. Now, some of these FOs who ended up on the short end of the SLI stick are worried about having "low time" guys move from the right seat of a mere turbo prop to the Command Throne in the Mighty Jet. What a sad joke.... at least it is to those of us who were hired to a lowly prop FO job while having more Turbine PIC time than most of our class mates TT.

Oh, and This Prop CA bid to stay right where I am. I could have held a 200 CA slot most anywhere and maybe even a junior 900 CA. Having to commute to fly a plane with an APU (the only part of a jet I envy) isn't worth it.

Don't forget about those Lido's, we jet pilots are superior thanks to our 25 lb flight cases full of colored charts
