I believe Bryan substantially more than I believe anything the IBT has to say. Bryan has earned our trust, the IBT has done the opposite.
FAPA had a good relationship with Bryan, the issues we brought up were addressed in a timely manner and usually to our satisfaction. That may be just because we were willing to work with him. We even get along with Wayne, if you can imagine that.....
Bryan selected extremely high quality individuals as the foundation of our Management team. They are people Bryan respects, people that respect Bryan and people that the pilots and other employee groups respect.
Our new VP of Flt Ops was a brilliant choice and speaks volumes in how Bryan expects his Management team to interact with the employees of Frontier. Our new Director of HR and Labor relations has a long history at Frontier in dealing fairly and openly with the Unions and employees that are not represented, whether we agree on a given issue or not.
They are both people that the employees will, again, work with and they will work with us. There are inevitably going to be matters we disagree on, but both sides realize that we are (and have been) in a long-term relationship and all of our lives depend on resolving the issues in a way that allows the Company to succeed.
Things are definitely looking up at Frontier, morale is up, confidence in Bryan and his Management team is up and the employees are, generally, the happiest we've been in years.
We will have challenges going forward (many of which are being caused by our "Representation" group - the IBT) but Frontier has successfully faced many challenges in the past 17 years, 4 months and 10 days.
How's that compare to the "Native" RAH, FFD, IBT represented group?
You guys can keep fighting with Management and trying to "make them wonder what the IBT will do to them today" [paraphrased].
The last thing we want for OUR Management team to worry about is the basic relationship and level of cooperation they are going to receive from us, their employees. That frees up their time to be proactive in developing new ideas to make the Company a success and ways to maintain and improve the Employee/Management relationship.
Yep, we like our way a lot more than the IBT way.

Just wait until they place a 100 seat aircraft on your cert with a deferred seat and pay you 99 seat pay to skirt the language of your contract. (I know that's not how your CBA works, but assume you get my point.) There are holes in your CBA that would allow them to do many such antics. They haven't yet, not because your old representation was so skilled at negotiating, but because your interests and theirs have up to this point aligned perfectly anyway. The moment it'll save them a dime to screw you and they don't need anything from you, you'll see Bryan's true colors.
A liar is a liar. A 100 seat airplane is a 100 seat airplane. There are many other examples of their past blatant lies and abuses. You can fool yourself and believe that BB works with the F9 group because they work so well with him. But lying and violating express wording of contract language is never justifiable and shows BB and gang for what they truly are, liars. Good luck holding hands and singing Kum Ba Ya.
Remember that there were many talented and honest members of the F9 management team when RAH bought them that were staying on. A few months later, they all quit...

Really? What does that phrase or title or word mean to you?
Again, off Google:
"A sad pathetic excuse for a male; not necessarily of Italian descent, but most likely; usually native to the New York/New Jersey Tri-State area."
I'm of German decent, I feel much better than "a sad pathetic excuse for a male." I believe that my friends would agree with that. I'm willing to bet, I've won more fights, using my brain, with our Union and in my personal life, than you've even considered joining. Never lived in the Tri-State area.
"A slang term for a lower-class or working-class urban Italian-American. The guido stereotype is multi-faceted. Originally, it was used as a demeaning term for Italian-Americans in general. More recently, it has come to refer to Italians who conduct themselves as thugs with an overtly macho attitude. The time period in which it obtained the latter meaning is not clear, but some sources date it to the 1970s or 1980s."
I AM a working class (blue collar) person that drives an aluminum tube from point A to point B. I think one of the most interesting beliefs or concepts in Aviation (held only by pilots) is that pilots are "white collar" workers, like Doctors, Attorneys, etc.
There is, obviously, little upper level education required, pilots don't make business decisions and they leave their work at the airport. It's the highest paying job, with the least amount of responsibility, I can think of. If you're able to live through one of your flights, everyone else does too. Makes it sort of a self-serving goal to not crash. Did I mention I'm not Italian or from the East Coast? Also, I don't live in an "urban" location.
“It’s a derogatory comment,” DiMino said in an interview with The Star-Ledger last week “It’s a pejorative word to depict an uncool Italian who tries to act cool.”
I don't try to act cool, but I'm way OK if members of the IBT think I'm uncool. Still not Italian or urban. Do you, by chance, know what the word "pejorative" means? It's "having a disparaging, derogatory, or belittling effect." Like racist. Misty, are you racist towards Italians?
"As for living up to the rest of the stereotype, Sorrentino shrugs it off. “It just so happens that some of the clubs we’re going to down here on the East Coast, you will see a fist-pump here and there. A lot of people on the East Coast have spiky hair. I used to be a fitness model. I don’t really feel the need to defend myself for having a six-pack.”
I rarely do fist pumps, I don't have enough hair to have "spiky" hair, and I haven't had a "six-pack" for 25 years. Still not from the East Coast.
"Carries the connotation of a person who is humorously uncultured and has a thuggish and overtly machoattitude and an unyielding pride in his Italian ancestry. Common in Northeast areas such as Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, Staten Island, New Jersey, South Philadelphia, Baltimore, Boston, Rhode Island and Southwest Connecticut."
What's REALLY funny is I would be hard pressed to come up with a better description of the IBT as a whole and 747 specifically than "humorously uncultured and has a thuggish and overtly macho attitude."
"Common in Northeast areas such as Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, Staten Island, New Jersey, South Philadelphia, Baltimore, Boston, Rhode Island and Southwest Connecticut."
Man, this area "growed like Topsy" [Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe, Published in 1852] also Arbitrator Dana E. Eischen, Final Decision and Award in the SLI matter concerning CHQ, L4, ALPA and FAPA, published, 2011 ("grew like Topsy" - is he nuts or what?). For the record, I'm not from, nor I have spent a significant time in, any of the aforementioned mentioned Cities or States.
So, Misty, is that really the word you wanted or do you think you might want to spend a week or two thinking of a better antonym or insult?
"Guido" - I am confident that you can do better. Next time, try running it by your wife, girlfriend or significant other prior to posting or perhaps just give it some thought all by yourself.
Happy to be a Company Man. Have a good evening you, you, you NON-Company Man you. See what happens if you don't try very hard or think very much.........

The IBT made their bed and the line pilots, many of which are good guys, have been forced to live with the relationship that the IBT destroyed with Management. It's too bad and prior to the whole merger fiasco, every RAH pilot I knew hated the IBT, now you've been forced, by pride, to defend that which you once despised.
If the IBT hadn't alienated RAH Management years ago, you might have a 100 seat 190. If the IBT hadn't alienated FAPA yaers ago, we all MIGHT be working together.
RAH Management and Frontier's interests ARE aligned. We both want a successful company and we're willing to help Management achieve their goal as we wish to be successful as well.
It wasn't that our representation was so skilled at negotiations (although they were - and are) it's the fact that we were willing to discuss and negotiate with Management in a realistic manner. FAPA couldn't have achieved what they did by themselves, we did it by establishing a line of communication, LISTENING and finding a mutually agreeable solution. Because we listened and didn't beat a fake drum or threaten Management, Management also listened to us.
Your (the IBT) model of interacting with Management is outdated, not suited for this profession (why does the IBT not represent a single Major passenger carrier) and yet you cling to it because it's all you know and the IBT has brow beaten you into believing their way is the only way (think Stockholm syndrome.)
I'm betting my career that you're wrong about Bryan. Again, our relationship with him and his group is completely different than the low brow, organized mob mentality that the IBT has established.
I believe the Frontier employee group is infinitely more qualified to assess and comment on the F9 management team in place prior to the transaction than any of the RAH pilots or the IBT "leadership." We had a couple of decent Managers, we had a lot of deadwood that needed to go years ago.
I can't believe you'll say, "Remember WE bought YOU out of BK" but don't recognize that our leadership placed us in a position that Chapter 11 was our only choice.
Our new Director of HR is somewhere between 10 and 50 times more qualified and intelligent than our old VP of HR. Sean did what he could with the mess he'd been handed but promoted an idiot to CFO and hangs his hat on him today. Sean DID fire Greg Aretakis, which was the right thing to do, but he made several errors along the way as well.
Who would you say was the most "talented and honest" member of Frontier's Management that left once Frontier was acquired?
Kum Ba Yah, brother.
