RAH: "The start of a new direction..."

But before I go:
"RPC"? You still interested in that? Yesterday's news isn't it? Much more productive discussion when sticking with issues that are relevant.
Speaking of relevance, just one question I'd like to ask before hopping back on my bike and heading on down the road. More like an informal poll actually:
As RAH native pilots, what is the "one" issue most important to you in the event BB succeeds in separating Frontier into an independent entity? What concerns you most or puts the biggest smile/grin on your face?
Glad to get rid of the anchor, the headache?
Make sure Bedford goes with us? The rest of his cronies too?
Good riddance and good luck?
I'm just kind of curious as ya'll seem so interested in telling us what Bedford has in store for us once he sheds his coat. Do you just want to be able to say "we told you so?" If F9 truly does separate and go on its' merry way, why do you guys even care? If you all want rid of Bedford so badly, wouldn't it be awesome to do everything you can to ensure he succeeds and leaves you alone? The IBT might then be able to negotiate that industry leading contract you are after with a new, more reasonable, management team capable of returning the FFD business to the cash cow it was before the profits earned on the sweat of your labors were frittered away on F9.
All while watching BB and F9 pilots fight it out until Frontier fails to be.
Have fun on APC!

Maybe its not completely accurate but making fun of the Teamsters by calling them guidos sure makes me smile. It almost makes me feel better while they destroy the profession by signing bull**** contracts one pos company at a time. Say, now that Moffett got "called on" will Gannon go back to school bus and truck driving?

Republic Signs OnPoint Fuel & Carbon Solutions Agreement
INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 16, 2011-- Republic Airways Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: RJET) has signed an OnPointSM Fuel & Carbon Solutions agreement with GE Aviation. Under this agreement, GE’s Fuel & Carbon Solutions team will use proprietary decision software and fuel consulting expertise and work with Republic Airways to identify and track operational improvements that could reduce the airline’s fuel spend by an average of three percent.
"We are extremely proud to enter into this market leading agreement with GE Fuel and Carbon Solution,” said Brian Bedford, chief executive officer, Republic Airways Holdings. “This strategic relationship will enable us to meet or exceed our short-term goal to cut our fuel consumption and carbon emission by 2 to 3 percent per year. This partnership, together with our recent order of 80 firm and 40 price-protected options of the fuel efficient Airbus A319/A320 neo aircraft powered by the LEAP engines, will enable us to reach our long-term goal to cut 20 percent of our fuel burn and carbon emissions."
“Republic Airways is focused on improving the operations of its airlines, and GE’s Fuel & Carbon Solutions provides customers with the data and expertise that can help them further reduce their fuel usage and emissions,” said John Gough, leader of GE Aviation's OnPoint Fuel and Carbon Solutions of GE Aviation Services.
With volatility in fuel prices over the last two years, airlines are looking for ways to manage this major portion of their cost base more effectively. GE’s Fuel & Carbon Solutions will work with the operations of Republic Airways Holdings to develop effective fuel management solutions.
About Republic Airways Holdings:
Republic Airways Holdings, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, is an airline holding company that owns Chautauqua Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Lynx Aviation, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America, collectively "the airlines." I can't believe you used the word "antics" instead of "shenanigans", I thought "shenanigans" was the only IBT approved word to describe such events.
The IBT made their bed and the line pilots, many of which are good guys, have been forced to live with the relationship that the IBT destroyed with Management. It's too bad and prior to the whole merger fiasco, every RAH pilot I knew hated the IBT, now you've been forced, by pride, to defend that which you once despised.
If the IBT hadn't alienated RAH Management years ago, you might have a 100 seat 190. If the IBT hadn't alienated FAPA yaers ago, we all MIGHT be working together.
RAH Management and Frontier's interests ARE aligned. We both want a successful company and we're willing to help Management achieve their goal as we wish to be successful as well.
It wasn't that our representation was so skilled at negotiations (although they were - and are) it's the fact that we were willing to discuss and negotiate with Management in a realistic manner. FAPA couldn't have achieved what they did by themselves, we did it by establishing a line of communication, LISTENING and finding a mutually agreeable solution. Because we listened and didn't beat a fake drum or threaten Management, Management also listened to us.
Your (the IBT) model of interacting with Management is outdated, not suited for this profession (why does the IBT not represent a single Major passenger carrier) and yet you cling to it because it's all you know and the IBT has brow beaten you into believing their way is the only way (think Stockholm syndrome.)
I'm betting my career that you're wrong about Bryan. Again, our relationship with him and his group is completely different than the low brow, organized mob mentality that the IBT has established.
I believe the Frontier employee group is infinitely more qualified to assess and comment on the F9 management team in place prior to the transaction than any of the RAH pilots or the IBT "leadership." We had a couple of decent Managers, we had a lot of deadwood that needed to go years ago.
I can't believe you'll say, "Remember WE bought YOU out of BK" but don't recognize that our leadership placed us in a position that Chapter 11 was our only choice.
Our new Director of HR is somewhere between 10 and 50 times more qualified and intelligent than our old VP of HR. Sean did what he could with the mess he'd been handed but promoted an idiot to CFO and hangs his hat on him today. Sean DID fire Greg Aretakis, which was the right thing to do, but he made several errors along the way as well.
Who would you say was the most "talented and honest" member of Frontier's Management that left once Frontier was acquired?
Kum Ba Yah, brother.

I'm extremely thankful to have escaped the RAH debacle in mid 2007; were I still there I'd be a fairly senior 170/190 Captain. I SAW how a CBA that was written in good faith, with loopholes and an intentional short duration, deteriorated into "if we can screw the pilots, we will". You never worked under RAH crew scheduling, CPs, or any of the crap we saw as the company that was once a sleepy, pleasant to work for, mid-sized 145 operator turned into grow-at-all-cost(on your employees' backs when necessary).
I've made posts here chastising native RAH pilots for the "we bought you" syndrome, and I understand the frustration you may have with the SLI. It blows my mind that you fail to see the industry ramifications of a company purposefully playing shell games with a CBA's payscale (the 100-seat nonsense) and you celebrating it because they're merely RJ drivers. To acknowledge that reality and then actually believe that Bedford's interests are aligned with yours is mind-boggling.

I've suggested to other people that they "Try to keep up" on this board, I'll try to follow my own advice......

You raise some good points, I'd like to address them and learn from your experience and perception. Your post deserves a thoughtful response. I don't have the time to respond right now. The answer to the first 3 questions will help me in responding appropriately. Thanks.
