Even if there's furloughs its not like they're going to the street. They'll go straight to XJT at current pay. They'll probably be able to hold a line on the XJT side quicker anyway. Only drop off I see is someone who lives in ATL will have to commute and the lack of per diem for 3 months during training

It absolutely is. There is not a single seniority list, and for all practical purposes from a pilot perspective we are still two companies. He can no longer hold his seat at ASA, so he may either hit the street or keep his ASA seniority, and longevity (PAY), and fly over here. You cannot have your cake and eat it to. This is the same deal they cut for our guys last year. So he is calling the kettle black here.

Or a guy like me who is about 140 or so from the bottom. If they do furlough I'm probably safe, bur it will be back on reserve again and going backwords on the seniority list after 4 years and have Already been furloughed once. If I transfer to XJT, reserve and bottom of the list there too. So either way I get ****ed. If this happens, my butthole will be the perverbial ASA slutt bc ive gotten ****ed some many times and so hard by them since I've been here. All ive gotten since ive been here is a good old ass ****ing. Its time for me to leave, doing my best to find a new job. If they don't furlough, great. At least I won't be on reserve looking for a new job.

I think a lot of FO's feel this way, I'm beginning to think the ship is sinking. It's getting so bad I have heard of some fairly senior Capt's leaving for other opportunities.

Well, if they let us voluntarily go to the erj right now I would seriously consider it.
I have a pretty sweet line right now but a 1 leg commute would be nice.

I think that it would be in management's best interests to have at least 20-30 furloughs, so that it would give them more leverage during the joint-contract negotiations. This is what Continental's management did to their pilots prior to the Unical merger.

You've been at ASA for 4 years and you only have 140 underneath you?!?!? I thought that they've been hiring more than that?

Hopefully there are no furloughs.

Nah, somebody is adding 6-8 months to there seniority. But reserve is being awarded to those with over 4 years of real seniority.

Agreed, 4 years will put you on reserve on the 700 (ATL)

March 08 DOH, 151 below me....come January that will drop with the ERJ guys going back to that side. Not sure of their exact number....20-25ish. Line holder on the 200, probably back on reserve when that group goes back to the ERJ side.
