The only way things will get better is through the US congress and the only way through to them is cash and lobbyists.
If we can spend time on this forum, why not form an APC organization, donate cash and hire a professional lobbyist and public relations firm to educate the public, make the CPL harder to obtain, force the 1500 hour rule, rest requirements, etc? Air transport should be regulated as a utility as its just as important as gas and electricity to our nation. The FAA won't listen to us or Sulley but they will listen to congress.
How many of us are there? Those of you who are in unions can allocate funds from your dues and the rest of us can donate money to the lobbyist directly.
Only cash will get us cash.
Next step is to form a committee to start the process.
PS....If we already have a lobbyist, lets fire them.

"Xe Services" (commonly known as "Xe") is a proper noun. Google it if you really don't know what it is. My sentence is grammatically correct. Just because you happen to be ignorant about what I'm talking about doesn't mean I have nothing to say...it just means you don't know everything.

[QUOTE=3GreenKSNA;1104664]The American public has no idea how little the guy sitting in the right seat of that regional jet makes.
They don't care! Even if they did care it wouldn't last long. They seemed to be mildly interested after 3407 but they forget rather quickly. They won't go out of their way to avoid riding an RJ. Just look at the loads. And even if they did care, they are not going to do anything about it nor can they. All they care about is the price of a ticket.

Why should anyone care?
It's a free country. The government isn't ordering you to fly a 70 seat jet for less than what Unemployment Insurance pays. It's your choice to accept a job for those wages, and it's your choice to stick around.
Love to fly too much to give it up? Well, no different than being a crack addict... why should a crack dealer give you a discount (airline management pay you more) when you're willing to pay the top dollar for a fix (willing to accept and continue working for poverty wages)?

What we really need as a "RALPA"...a Regional Airline Pilots Association. Two pilot groups, each of whom are a potential threat to each other, represented by one union...talk about a union busters wet dream. Just the kind of crack in solidarity managers love to exploit.
The only way that things (may) get better is if we represent ourselves. I consider myself a pretty pro-union guy, but the way we have it set up is just stupid.
