I'll let a newer pilot chime in if I'm wrong but from what I've seen, as long as the hiring continues, you should be able to get whatever base you want within a few months. Junior base changes. Probably Newark right now but it's not uncommon for classes to be sent where they are needed operationally. Reserve is probably four months to a year right now and depends on attrition and base. Training is seven weeks or so. Three plus weeks of Monday to Friday and then you get into training events which can be anytime.

Seriously, you get two checks of about $740 to cover your entire training duration. It's per diem, not pay, so shouldn't be taxable, but that's it. Uniform is payroll deducted over time ($25 per pay period after training is over). Most items are deductible, but luggage isn't, and can cost upwards of $400 for leather briefcase and metal roller bag, though you are not required to get these. Some people opt for cheaper options. Don't buy the hat unless your girlfriend thinks you look hot in it. They put you in a hotel with a roommate assigned when you show up. Hopefully, you like him (or her, if you are a girl).
Thankfully I had some other sources of income to get me through training.
You will "bid" for your base in seniority order (age) in your class, and it's based on what the company needs at the moment. If you really want a particular place, you can probably trade there pretty soon if you don't get it. Newark and Chicago tend to be more junior. Beware what you wish for - everyone is told how houston is the best and newark sucks, but you'll sit on short call reserve in Houston for a LONG time but I almost had a relief line in Newark in my second full month on reserve. Basically, if you are going to live in base bid where you want to live. If you are going to commute, consider other factors.

75 hours starts once you pass your PC. During training it's per diem only. Something like $1500 for the seven weeks but that was when I started five years ago. Might be a little more now. Housing is covered but all uniform stuff you are on your own for. Pants, shirts, tie, eppulates, bag, flight kit, binders, etc. You get some uniform reimbursement expenses but that starts after a year of service.

Anyone here have the April 23rd class date? Im in! =), and for any of you wondering they lowered the mins back down again, That was the only reason why I was offered the class date. I originally had a little over 1000TT and they told me to keep flying and update my airline apps as much as possible. I was also told to keep in touch. so I called last week just to let them know my current times and that I was still interested, went off on a dual flight when I got back received a call from Dale giving me the good news
PS:
new mins are 1000TT and 50ME
GOOD LUCK!

Got ya. Do you know if they are less interested with guys that exceed the mins by a fair amount? I have 2300 hrs, 600 turbine, and a little more multi. I submitted my resume 2 weeks or so ago and haven't heard anything. I didn't know the average response time. (I might be a little over-excited, but figured I would ask.)
