There were only 3 people in my interview group. We all had over 1600 hours. The other 2 guys had turbine time. They were interviewing like 6 per day, until they raised the minimums. Obviously, the pool has shrunk. Short presentation. 3 computer tests. 16 section Cognitive, 300 question Personality, and 60 question delta aeronautical knowledge test. one page of HR type questions you have to write responses to. one page written paragraph. lunch Interview: Mostly instrument procedures. Then they drive the group to the delta building for fingerprinting and dating forms. Then drive to pee test. Then back to hotel, done by beer-thirty. No written knowledge test. (just the computer test) No Sim. No HR interview. (just the written questions) The delta test wasn't too hard, but harder than an FAA test. It was broadly reaching in subject area, holding, weather, systems, light gun, runway marking, hand signals, turbine stuff, regular and transonic aerodynamics, etc. I think I probably made an 80 on it. I think I would have been able to make a 60 to 65 without studying. I studied all the regular stuff, aim, etc, and the turbine pilots flight manual, since I had no turbine time. |

Assuming its one of the may classes then?
|
how long does it usually take for them to respond once you submitted your info on airline apps?

Not enough - to answer you question. More directly, before taxes first year is about 21K, second year is about 32K.

Anyone interview recently or know how many more classes they are planning on running in the coming months, or how many more they are planning to hire this year?
|
There are no plans to hire more than the 16 on the crj side.....as of now.
|
I heard the class only had 1 in it, but that hasn't been verified.

How is that possible? |
I asked around to see what I could find out and was told there are 16 in it so 1 is just a rumor.
|
Is anyone else being hired, I interviewed almost 3 weeks ago and still no call back, I know 2 of the 4 people in my group got rejection letters...
|
I know the ERJ side is still hiring. Still getting a trickle of additional planes and increases in block hours with decreases in productivity (with the merger of L-CAL and L-UAL flying). Maybe the competition for jobs here is getting stiffer: there must be quite a few Comair/Eagle/Colgan guys with a quite a few hours accumulated ready to come over.
I also see that people are leaving the ERJ side at a much greater rate, how is it possible that only 3 CRJ captains have left so far this year? Are they not even trying to leave or just everyone is waiting for Delta to hire? |
Would anyone mind posting the jr bases, and maybe how long guys have been on rsv? I know it can be a roving target but I'm looking at a furlough and am curious. Many thanks!
|
Traditionally when Delta is hiring, the CRJ side see's the most attrition, but with Delta not having done any significant hiring in years, when they do open their school house it should be interesting. The extended time most have spent in the left seat has provided a comfort level that is hard to leave, I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of Captains elect to remain at the regionals. Going off of flightdeck polling, I hear more often than not that either they can't afford the pay cut, they're too old, don't want to go back to reserve, or don't want to give up the QOL (weekends, holidays, vacation, etc). I would put the bar at about 10 years, if they have been here longer than that, they aren't going anywhere , below that is where the attrition will happen. Of course, I could be totally wrong, wouldn't be the first time.
|
I've been hearing that too... about 10-12 years seems to be the cut-off for when they'll either leave when hiring starts or stay for the QOL/pay. I think we're going to be seeing FOs leaving in droves. 5+ years in the right seat with no upgrade prospect in sight is more than most of us can stomach. First chance to get out, we will.
2013 is gonna be interesting. |

7 weeks thats a long time, I have a few other offers but I really want ExpressJet...
ExpressJet is the biggest regional airline in the world and It is financially very stable, with great benefits, so I thing that your desire to be in expressjet is the best option. |

Its very stable but the pay is not as good... Is quite a debacle, and a stressful situation..

Try not to take what he said out of context! 5+ years AND no upgrade in sight. That definitely doesn't sound like entitlement. Stagnation at any job type is frustrating.

Wow, entitled much? As a profession, we should be outraged that any of our members have to spend 3 or 4 or 5 years at sub-$40.000 wages while they pay student loans. |
Sooooo, for those recently interviewed, can you give a gouge and tell us how far in the future we are with giving class dates?
|
Does anyone know if there is an email address to send a resume to or is everything just done through airline apps?
|
Everything is done through AirlineApps.
