Safety is not measured in accidents and lives lost. Luck plays a large part in keeping people safe. Those of us outside Silver Airways can only judge the safety of the company largely by the pilots they meet, flights they take, and management practices.

Gulfstream had its run-ins with the FAA. Gulfstream also watered down the role of their FOs by allowing anyone who qualified for a loan to play airline pilot. That put a lot of extra work on the captains, effectively making many 121 flights a single pilot operation. Previous management has made it clear safety was a low priority for them. Silver Airways tells us they are a new company, and that may be the case, but it takes time to get rid of bad apples within the company and even more time to make the rest of the world forget about them.

The most important reflection of safety (and the one you seem to have failed at) is the way the public views the pilots. What you have done today has showed many people that Silver Airways has at least one FO fresh out of training who has a large ego and does not respect other aspects of aviation that he has little experience with. There will be a point when you have enough experience to realize how dangerous a pilot who over estimates their abilities and under estimates the conditions is. The fact that you responded to Wingtips equally dumb comments shows that you may be able to physically fly a 1900, but you failed CRM by not recognizing and avoiding another immature pilot.

You sir have failed at recognizing two trollsmessing around on the Internet from the get go. It's a shame people take the "Internet" so seriously.

Try landing a 150,000+ airplane on a contaminated runway in a crosswind. A B1900 stops fairly quick when you throw the props into beta. It's not as simple in a jet.

I'm not knocking beech drivers, but I think you need to understand that just because it's a jet doesn't make it easier.
