If what you say is true, we should be negotiating $1.70 an hour flight pay and $30 per hour perdiem.

Perdiem is NOT PAY! If you want to eat PBandJ three times a day while at work, well, good for you. Just think how much you would make if you didn't eat while on a trip.

I prefer to eat real meals, and perdiem offsets the added cost of eating on the road. Period. Counting it as pay only plays into management's hand.
Thank you sir.

I do eat real meals. I prepare steak and brown rice, chicken with sundried tomatoes and onions, raw almonds, soups and some tuna fish. Usually, I prepare 2-3 good dinner meals prior to a trip along with simple lunches ie turkey and flat bread sandwiches. Sorry, no PB&J's with me.

You said high 80 hour lines......
90 hour lines = 1,080hrs/year
32,000/1,080= 29.62

You made 29.62 first year at Colgan? Your numbers don't add up.
He's not lying, I made more than that last year and that was with 2 months pre-contract. I spent about 4 months on reserve, than mix between bottom line holder and build-ups. With junior assignments, extensions, and all the crap they did to me my average credit after the contract took affect was 120-140 hours till about Sep-Oct than around 100-110 after that. Per diem was an extra 7,000 roughly so deposited in my bank account was just about 40k (the places we go, you can never go through the entire daily per diem so it did add up as extra money).

I don't know what to tell you except if I was going to lie about how much I made, I wouldn't come up with $30,000 to impress anonymous internet posters. First year pay was $25.92 and there was lots of inefficient scheduling and mistakes made that caused monthly credit to go way up. I live in base so I could easily pick up open time and I held a line from day one.

There ya have it, 3 different people making around the same amount "30k" on 1st year salary. Why would we lie? Is it impressive? I don't think so, but they're the facts. Sorry to disappoint....

If you include the perdium I made 34K on 2011 my first year at Eagle, without perdium I made 26K! What is hard for people to believe about the 30K?

I'd say if you started more than 6-7 years ago....you were **** poor 1st year. I stand corrected. Didn't know you made that amount year 1.
