So if all goes as planed and every SF340 is TU by the end of may what is going to happen to all of these routes from IAH? So many of these towns have invested huge amounts of money in terms of infrastructure and direct subsidy's to keep commercial service alive and I know at least a few are actually profitable. Would XJT be in a position to at least cover some of this lift on a temporry basis, I know back in the day they would run almost 5 flights a day to Beaumont in the ERJ (obviously a poor business decision)
In another thread someone pointed out that Victoria was EAS, so if I understand things correctly Colgan will have to continue to fly these routes until the DOT releases them from the EAS contract? That being said would they leave a few Saab's around or is it conceivable that we could see a Q or CRJ on this route and possiably others?

They will look at the numbers, and find out if a plane can fill it or else pull it. Silver might get a few with the 1900, and I think they are getting Saabs. Expressjet also has 135s parked, they could put those 37 seat jets on some of the routes, maybe even get some of Eagles since they want to return them.
If there is a market, it will be filled.

"Soon" as in probably another 5-10 more years in the UA California system? then yes SOON...
The BRO has done a great job for all the california/west coast routes for UA, too bad Embraer doesnt produce a nexgen EMB120 that would seat close to 50...

Doesn't SkyWest already have a good presence at IAH? I'd imagine they might step in maybe for the time being until a more permanent solution is made? I dont think Silver is any position to move any aircraft to Houston yet (at least by the end of May). They dont have the number of Saabs to cover FLL and TPA, let alone IAH. And they need whatever 1900s are in Florida to stay put for now until more 340's hit the line. Just my 2 cents.

That would be nice. Either the Emb120 or a "nextgen" version of the Dash8-200/300 that would have the speed of the Q.
