Can we please return this site back to just pilots. I'm tired of management posting on here. Do you really think pilots from ATA etc. really want to be at G7? NO. they're there until they can get back to flying at a mainline. So either you're management or you are the most naive person in the world. Of course the mang. team is going to be nice to a new hire class, so was the car salesman I was trying to buy a car from the other day, yet he kept trying to screw me over.

Sadly, the truth is G7 isn't the ONLY airline that did this. When UAL went BK and the RFP's were put out, certain other carriers gave UAL cost numbers that were not exactly legit nor accurate. They're fuel usage numbers were off, block hour costs, etc.

And in the process ended up flying at a loss, just to get in with mainline, OR to go BACK in with mainline after being booted previously.

Just looking at pay rates. It seems most of the 50 seater operators make more then you do for the 70 seater. Congrats, I hope management gave you a reach around at the end of the class. When I was at OH, even in BK they promised growth and upgrades, so don't take them for their word.

That's just competition in a capitalist environment. Same thing was true with Pinnacle's previous CEO who underbid the ATL CRJ-900 contract and the Colgan Q400 contract just to get 'in' with Delta and Continental. You can argue that Pinnacle swiped from other carriers for a loss contract, and that both Comair and ASA had pilot furloughs in that timeframe.

All that aside, yes it is childish to boot someone from the jumpseat for these regional outsourcing pi$$ing matches.

How about blaming ALL the RJ operators for layoffs at the mainline level.

Naive? Ha. No. I went there did my time "in the hole" & moved on. I'm sorry if you aren't so lucky. I can't stand the MGT there. I've seen good hard working pilots there get fired for no good reason(s) & no representation from the "union" there. It's a Hulas owned company. Whether you work under the umbrella of Trans States, GoJet or Compass it's a horrible place to be.

For the last time, outsourcing is not the same as ALTER-EGO companies! Hence you'll get the boot every time!

Any startup airline will have low labor costs because their pilot group is at the bottom of the pay scale. Combine that with a lousy contract and you have the lowest labor costs in the industry. Most other costs such as fuel, certain maintenance costs and aircraft leases are all pass threw expenses that mainline picks up. Your labor costs are mainly the determining factor whether you can bid for flying at a lower rate than your competition.

If GoJet has the lowest costs among CRJ-700 operators, why would they bid for flying at a loss? And if they really did that, it would prove what a bottom feeder they really are.

I do believe SkyWest is the airline you might be thinking of, as far as bidding for flying at a loss.
