I just finished INDOC at G7. So far I am very impressed. Nothing but positive to say. In a industry ripe with negativity, it's a very welcome relief. I have met most of the management group and they all seem very approachable and down-to-earth.

Yes, there's talk of new aircraft, new flying, short life on reserve and quick up-grades. No one has mentioned that there is a potential bankruptcy, losing of aircraft and furloughs. I am told, in fact, they are planning on hiring for the rest of year. Any one with over 4500TT and 1000 turbine can expect to upgrade VERY quickly.

There are guys and gals from all over in my hiring class. Pinnacle, Colgan, Comair, Air Wisconsin, PSA, MESA, American Eagle, lots of corporate, ATA, United, North American, Republic, Skyway and Midwest to name a few. A hand full of CFI's new to 121 and they all seem well prepared.

If you are considering G7, ignore the most of the posters on the G7 threads. Many of them have no first hand knowledge of GoJet.
I worked there. Give it time. The Mgt folks will throw you under the bus quicker than you can say what the He** You'll see.

I don't doubt that, but I was at Colgan, Pinnacle through our whole company "under the bus" then backed up over the top of us to make sure we were dead!

Gojet is the bentley of regionals. Good airplanes, great people....and growing.
You can try to put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig!

It just amazes me that people think that quick upgrades and growth are good justifications for an alter-ego. The company was still formed to circumvent a collective bargaining agreement, and the effects are still being felt today. I've yet to meet a gojets pilot that walks around with their head up high, and their ID facing forward. Says something when the people that work there are so embarrassed, don't even get me started on the three occasions that guys have tried to sneak in the back with a Jumpseat form without having the decency to ask if it was ok with me!

And kids listen to this because this is important, gojets was created under such questionable circumstances that both ALPA and Teamsters (the aviation chapter) both rejected their petition for membership. It was the "taxi driver" chapter of the teamsters ironically enough that gave them an opportunity; the chapter that represents gojets is not the same as RAH, or any other airline. If that doesn't tell you anything I don't know what will!!!

There's a couple of their recruiters that post here about how great gojets is, nothing could be further from the truth. They hire the weak sheep, because that's what Hulas likes, pilots that say please "bend me over" time and time again.
You guys always seem to leave out the fact that a lot of those "pigs" came from Trans States Airlines.

This ill agree with. I said the people working here are good. The employee/management relationship needs some work.

Regionals were created to allow mainline to outsource flying and lower costs. That cat's been out of the bag for decades now. Gojets was created to undercut another regional. There is a big difference; it is a new low.

So now, alter-egos are ok under the guise of capitalism? Are you ****ing serious? Using your logic, crossing a picket line is ok under capitalism! Wow, you are what's wrong with this industry.

Why can the gojets guys tell the difference between voluntary outsourcing and alter-egos? Oh that's right the truth is rather inconvenient. This pseudo-scab mentality is the reason management continues to create airlines like freedom and gojets.

I never said anything about crossing a picket line. Have you ever walked one? I have..Boeing 1989 for 48 days. But to say that a company doesn't have the right to create subsiaries or charge less than their competitors is non-sense. Trans States and GoJet are soley owned, Hulas (or whatever his name is) has the right to do what he likes with his company. Every door in St Louis I walked through has been unlocked. No one is forced to stay.

Yep, pretty much. It's NOT CBA circumvention. EVERY time flying has been outsourced to a regional, it was at the blessing of the pilot group that lost it. Whether in exchange for the wide body aircraft that were promised/big fat paychecks pre 9/11, or the BK's, doesn't matter. It was voted away in BOTH time frames.

What's the alternative? The alternative would have been that mainline KEPT the flying at the mainline level.

I was really hoping to get a job that had a 5 or 10 year upgrade, $20k training contract and at least a year on reserve, but I got a job at GoJet instead. What's really sad is that some pilots actually have to such low class as to make another fellow pilot feel like $&@% about the company they work for! And to deny a jumpseat so they can't get home to see their family! Huh? Despicable! Who needs to hang their head low?..

Well, considering that GoJets underbit other regionals to fly at a loss, just to get in with a mainline, I hope you never get laid off. Thats one business plan that can't fail!! Those planes that GoJets swiped from other reputable carriers for a loss contract.. that caused those carriers to potentially lay off their pilots. Now no more income for those families. Now you b i t c h about how childish it is to boot some one from the jumpseat so they dont get to see their families as soon? Well, go talk to the guys that are on the street because of you. Despicable? YUP! Thats YOU!
