Default Connecting a Few dots at 9E

I was just thinking about this the other day. I am not 100% sure on if the number are correct for number of 200's we have but i have heard it is 141. I know that APC says we have less but i think the numbers are a bit low. So anyway here it goes:

We have 141 crj 200's If the Delta TA passes there will be a hard limit of 125 crj 200's. We are losing 16 crj 900 which if delta chooses can be kept at 9E at a 1 for 1 exchange for 200's. Magically 141-16+125. Now if you also count us having the youngest 200 in DCI I am going to predict that if this TA passes we will keep our 900's and lose the 16 200's. To me it just seams to be way to much of a coincident.

First question is can someone confirm that we have 141 200's? And then what do you guys think this is how it is going to go down.

I will not venture to take a guess, but if we are the only DCI carrier operating 200's by 2015 then we will be the most vulnerable DCI carrier after 2015. 2016 will be yet another new Delta pilot contract.

Not sure how bad the 200's will be slashed, but considering we are in Ch11.... It will be drastic. Delta can't force other companies to slash, but they have us under their thumb. We'll see a few 900's come our way when Comair is dissolved. But it won't replace the ATL 900's we couldn't fly for cheap.

So how do you think it will go down with SKW/ASA 200's they have contracts with Delta to fly them for years.. Delta's gona pay them to park the planes? Doubt it. Plus SkyWest has alot of "pro-rate" markets... Doubt they are going to give up the SLC-SGU shuttle and let 9E take those flights over...

I think the more likley outcome will be, Delta getting out of as many contracts on the 200's they can... The ones they can't they will have to do a 2-1 swap to lower there risk on the contracts.. It's going to be a 3 year swaping out deal... Hold on... If i were ASA/SKY and Delta wanted to get out of a airplane CPA 7 years early.. I would tell them to pound sand unless they were bringing some 900's to the table... On another note, SkyWest also has a min-block hour ratio in there Delta contract. Delta learned that quick last year when they were paying airplanes to sit idle... That only lasted a month before they figured that out... Point is this is way more complicated then just #'s of 200's at each airline...

I think they would rather use those 900's in a 2 for 1 deal like they have with ASA and the other regionals. Delta could drop a lot more fifty seaters that way. If anything 9e will keep the fifty seaters unless they are given to the likes of skywest or asa to replace their aging fleet. Based on 12-03, it looks like management is planing on shutting down 9e with all the training events.

Will Pinnacle have lower costs than SkyWest and ExpressJet once the chapter 11 process is complete?

The the OP believes that 9E will keep all but 16 200's, and Skywest/ASA will lose ALL of theirs? Huh?

Isn't the point of getting rid of the 200's because they are getting old and coming up on it's maintenance checks? I can see ASA/Skywest doing a 2 to 1 deal with the 900's and Pinnacle keeping most of the 200's since they have the youngest fleet. Who knows what's going to happens, it's probably going to take a few years for it to be all done.

Correction. Delta has the youngest 200 fleet in the nation. Pinnacle does not own those aircraft. Delta does and can have somebody else crew them if Delta prefers. That is the danger of having someone else own your aircraft. These aircraft would be the easiest ones for Delta to get rid of because they own them and can offer them to Bombardier for bigger jets and Pinnacle has nothing to say in the matter.
