Someone needs to write an appropriate history. But, as I recall Comair was probably the best run regional airline anywhere prior to their Delta acquisition. Comair lobbied manufacturers to build the RJ and were the first to operate the type in 1993.
Shares in Comair opened trading at $5 and split eight times on their way to nearly $40 a share. Comair topped a billion in revenue in the late 1990's. As an ASA pilot then, Comair always impressed us with their operation. The way they engineered their stations and aircraft handling is IMHO unmatched even today in the "regional" business. When I asked our management "why can't we do things like they do" the response was "because excellence costs money." Comair's crews have always been professional and polite in every dealing I've ever had with them personally. They've worked in an a tremendously adverse situation since 2001. I had always hoped Delta would treat their own asset better. Good luck to Comair pilots. Don't let yourself be distracted these final days. Your airline has a good reputation. May your record remain clean and your resume shine. Hope to fly with some of you soon. |

And I hope we're not surrounded by sand when we do. :) |

When is the announcement of who is getting the 7 and 900s? Gee, I wonder if the recipient will be Go Jets?
Sad! Comair pilots and FAs are tops in my book! Hard to stay classy in this industry! My deepest condolences to the employees of Comair. |

Yeah, seriously. I remember flying at least two N***CA birds while at Pinnacle. It's the RJ shuffle by Delta.
NO Delta Connection carrier is safe, not even the precious and almighty Skywest. |

I remember about 4 years ago the company shipping off all of our new rj's to other delta connection carriers for the oldest planes in their fleet to cut costs. Now they are shutting down Comair because the fleet is too old. Great management! I took the early out because I was sick of being lied to. Any one know what happens to our flight benefits. Good luck on your job search. The Delta pilots must be thrilled to see such misery inflicted on Comair after all of our underpaid hard work for their airline!

Bucking bar thank you.
