I have to say... the news is saying it. Whether the news is accurate or not is certainly debatable, but to me the thread title is accurate. Is he said "Comair shutting down", that would be a different case entirely.

Please close or change the title. Three 900 captains just hung themselves in ops before they even read the article. You have blood on your hands now.

Back when I was at the regionals (2000) Comair (and Air Wisky) were the two regionals where you could go and have a career...
I wanted to go to Comair. Back then I figured if I never get my dream corporate job or a major job, I would'nt mind getting stuck at Comair for life. times have certainly changed |
One can only hope...

I agree. The news story is what it is. News of Comair's demise has been greatly exaggerated in the past. Candidly, Delta should manage Comair better. Why deprive your own asset of growth? Why cut the schedules and cause further inefficiency? Why feed competitors at the expense of your own team?
If this isn't true then Delta should have immediately set the record straight. Is Delta in any sort of negotiations on the property? (honest question) It will be a sad day if this comes to pass. Good luck folks. |
:( Comair folks have always treated me very well! Sad!!

Why pay for such a senior pilot group? Delta's and Comair's most junior captain were hired the same year! If there is somebody cheaper, I'm sure Delta will find them.
It will be a sad day if this comes to pass. Good luck folks. Delta management caused this. They managed Comair into oblivion by driving its costs and seniority up by continually shrinking it and failing to invest in it; thereby pi$$ing away over $1 billion that they paid for it. |
