Wouldn't it make sense for every major airline to own and have one list with its regional? This to me would prevent a pilot group from becoming too expensive.

Or you can just contract out the flying to the lowest bidder and let them worry about their "expensive" pilot group.

Nooooo....

Siad pilot group would then

a) Organize and demand higher compensation, backed up with the threat of strike which would shut down ALL of that major's feed, or

b) Merge with the mainline pilot group and demand even higher compensation.

Anyone know the current fleet size and pilot group size? Not sure APC profile is accurate or not.

lets see, delta forced pinnacle into bk by withholding payments and forced them to cancel there contracts with other mainlines and delta has raped comair taken it down to where it is to shut down. so which group is it better to work for again, not owned or owned.

Being owned by or working under DAL has zero benefits. They will slaughter every regional carrier under that umbrella and force thousands of pilot out on the street, or out of the business altogether. But hey, they are getting 717's. So in the creation of those jobs, they've destroyed double at their partners.

I'm pretty sure years of inept, corrupt, and idiotic management at Pinnacle is what put them into bankruptcy.

Think about it from a business standpoint. If I were a Regional owner, I'd shutdown and restart a subcontract airline every 7-10 years and I'd make sure my intentions were well known by all within my pilot group (& all labor). My hopes would be that they would get the hell out, thus keeping cost low.

Come on guys/gals, you're labor; you've given up control of your careers by becoming pilots. This is business, nothing personal. It’s what has happened time after time and occurs in every industry in the world.

All this flying we do as subcontractors (regionals) belongs to mainline, don’t like it? Get out, find something new. Become your own boss, move on.
