Bottom line; ASA and XJT have brighter futures under our Mgt team’s leadership. They are very proactive and understand their niche better than anyone else.

MunkeyButtr has a point. Yes, it is the way of this industry, but it's a shame nonetheless. People are having their lives turned upside down by this turn of events. There are a few pilots who will quit rather than force themselves into a permanent commute. Therefore, I'd refrain from celebrating. A buddy of mine is a senior line pilot/check airman with SKW and was the first to notify me of this, and offered up his apologies. He calls this a canibalistic industry - and he's right.

I can't believe some of the vulture type mentality some people have. Yeah, you are happy that your airline is getting some new flying, at the expense of fellow pilots. Happy until it happens to you.
|
Guess what people? This won't be the last time flying will get shifted at the expense of others. Management is laughing at all of these posts right now!

Agreed! It's sad to see how narrow viewed some pilots are. They are part of the reason this industry is in the crapper. Funny how the mentality changes when the situation isn't in your favor. When GoJets has bid on YOUR flying and is awarded a whole base worth of it, people get all whiny and start snifflin. It's kind of the same thing here. Except that you didn't take a pay cut or except an even more sub-par QOL so the company can do it. But it was still someone elses job loss so that you can keep yours for another day. "That's just the way the industry works" comes across extremely selfish. Just do your job, do it well and appreciate that you are in a better position than some others. Respect goes a long ways believe it or not. And trust me, what comes around goes around. Sorry to all of the Eagle guys. I'm NOT happy to do your job. But I have very little say in it. |

You mean the pitcher who makes millions and has no problems or worries about providing for his family? The pitcher that works 40 days a year? Terrible analogy. He plays a game. You're getting excited about flying which isn't even growth flying, but simply the result of under bidding and the race to the bottom. I am not blaming skywest pilots by any means, but to publicy cheer gaining another airlines flying is embarrassing. If your new flying was AA growth flying then celebrate. Your new flying is resulting in base closure and job loss. That is nothing to celebrate or get excited about.
And if you look back at my posts, you will find that I have stated that I have gone through exactly what is happening at Eagle. It's not fun. But you'll survive. Change is inevitable. i have gone through reduced flying. I have gone through displacement. I have gone through a complete employer change. Its a setback, but it's not the end. Trust me And you took the analogy a bit too literally there fella... |

Those of you at eagle that support the MEC and think they're are not in with management, please tell me as of ten minutes ago you are at least questioning them. For those of you that don't work for Eagle, the TA was agreed to today magically the same day as the Skywest flying. I think since XJT got a four yr contract, they're no more then a pawn to beat us into believing our MEC

You're intoxicated.
