Jet Training in Base city
Hey folks!
I was curious if anyone could list the airlines (Major & Regional) that have there jet training/transition courses in the same city as there prospective bases? (i.e. Skywest & Express having HOU bases and training centers)
I ask because I am considering going to Regionals and due to family I would like to attend the training courses in the same city I will live/base.
Any info is appreciated, Thanks!

Don't count on it! At Express Jet, you might get hired in hopes of ERJ and trng in Houston, but on the first day of class you could very well be put into CRJ class and be in trng in ATL.....your odds are lot better at a table in Vegas then any regionals....!

maybe he isnt set on a base and wants to choose place with training & base at same location?
guessing is more fun than getting more input
surprised no one has yet put him off the idea of combining family & training. (think the idea is enviable but I think staying at a hotel and focusing on studying and being with other people in same boat helps. at least for those new to the airlines)

Even assuming you can get the most junior base at the company doesn't work out sometimes. You have to be flexible at the airlines.

If your family can't make it without you for a few weeks, they are not going to last long in an airline career.
Also sim training is often not done in the same location as ground school, and is often farmed out to different locations (wherever sim time is available) so you could only count on the first 2-3 weeks of ground school.
I would focus on finding a regional that mistreats and abuses it's employees less than most other regionals, and that has large junior base(s) in a location where you would be happy to settle. There are already too many factors to consider to try to include training locations. You need to drop this, seriously.
