Eagle pilot recently fired for trying to change retirement age! Not new news, but interesting developements are popping up.
Did the Captain Fly 9 Years Past Retirement Age? | Flying Lessons - seattlepi.com
ALPA code of ethics promote honesty, integrity and safety. After decades of lying and falsifying medicals and other documents, rumor has it that ALPA legal is attempting to get AE to allow him to retire...(all alleged of course at this point of course). Another use of our dues dollars for defending someone that TSA, CBP, and the FBI are looking at for criminal charges...
Oh - CASS database didn't catch this. 10 year FBI background check didn't catch. DHS didn't catch this...and people wonder why we shouldn't "trust" our government to properly do their job on safety and security oversight. Wonder how many more out there gamed the system?
Also heard from some very senior Eagle people that a lot of Passover pay/award grievences are forthcoming.
FWIW, This American Bankruptcy fiasco is sadly being used to totally f$&@ over Eagle employees on this lowest bidder regional flying for American mainline and the race to the bottom for wages...sad.
Anybody have any more insight on this?

It does look like federal charges are coming.
The multiple level failures on the government side are problematic. I could see one agency, but several is pretty bad.

Falsifying his certificates is also a disqualified. Is the OP saying that he is grieving his termination to get retirement status? I'll bet AA/Eagle will ban him from their planes anyway.

I say good for him. This industry is the only one where age discrimination is still legal. As long as you can pass the physical and your PCs, when you retire should be up to the individual, not some bureaurcrat in DC. And before you ask, I'm not anywhere near mandatory retirement, and I'm not interested in getting someone else's job just because they were forced to retire....
