I applied over a week ago and my application status says "not reviewed". I never got an email thanking me or acknowledging that I applied.

 

I applied in June and same...everyone else called within a day or two.....AWAC was in my backyard too.

 

Would Wisconsin be your first choice if they offered you a class now?

 

Tough question. Living in base would be awesome but the 2015 uncertainty scares me. Also about to start class at compass.

 

Living in base is awesome. Commuting sucks. Not having a job in a year sucks, perhaps upgrading at compass in a year is awesome. If I were in your shoes, I'd be in the compass ground school. and i work for awax.

Anyone have any info on class delays? 2 weeks right now.

 

I'm in the Sept 15 class and haven't heard anything about a training delay...

 

There are no delays...at least one class a month for the rest of the year...and no this does not mean there is blood in the water...hiring will continue indefinitely is what we are being told.

The pace may have slowed partially because they hired rapidly in the first half to absorb 117...just like everyone else.

Plus...the US Airways contract extension to 2017 is based a loan given to Airways by AWAC back in 2008.

It is AWAC's choice to invoke the extension if they meet incentives and they have already met them....which is my understanding even though it has not been officially announced. My best guess is the company may be trying to figure out how to best leverage that extension into a longer term plan with AA...thus the silence about it.

So...not part of the original question...but that needed to be stated since it's popular for trolls on this site to say AWAC is closing down next year...
