Does AWAC want to fly bigger planes? Duh! But there is a reason they have been in business for 49 years (without a bankruptcy). It is an uneasy feeling for us here of course...but only because of the lack of info...not due to your flawed reasoning. Talk to your guy again...that rumor you are trading on is at least a year old.

UAL drove AWAC bankrupt to acquire Wisconsin' s gates in ORD. The renamed company that is the current isn't the same one from earlier times. It is similar with similar routes, but it was created by the 6 investors that hold it now. UAL still held the original name Air Wisconsin. When UAL filled bankruptcy in the early 2000's, the original Air Wisconsin was even listed as part of their owned companies.
Air Wisconsin company today is an offshoot of the original AWAC. Sooo.... to say AWAC has been around for 46 years and they they'll be alright ain't exactly true.
I felt like I saw the writing on the wall back in 2007 and left ASAP.
Good luck.

No united did not drive Air Wisconsin to bankruptcy, they bought them. And in 1993 CJT Holdings bought air Wisconsin from United, but did not get the name. That is why air Wisconsin is called Air Wisconsin Airlines Corporation. A little research using the google can really help.

I'm always amazed at some of these posters on here who are just salivating at the thought of AWAC closing the doors. I just don't get it. What the heck did Air Wisconsin do? Other than having an outstanding group of employees, paychecks that are about as good as you're going to find at a regional, and a pretty decent contract to work under as well. I can understand why some would look at a bottom feeder regional and want it to fail, but I'll never understand the hostility towards the decent carriers.
I guess it's the pure selfish nature of these folks that want more airplanes and more upgrades at their own sh***y regional.

All right. I'll go with that. It's been a few years and you may be right. HOWEVER, my point is the same. The AWAC you work for today is NOT that family owned company that existed prior to the early 1990's. Similar name, different companies.
