Is CLE obtainable for the ERJ and DTW obtainable for the CRJ out of indoc/initial training?

If given the choice, what are the QOL advantages of each aircraft?

June classes are the 3rd and 17th for ERJ and one CRJ class the 17th as well. Has anyone heard of July class dates? I would assume it'd be for the ERJ?
I really haven't kept up with all the new regs, but I thought I read somewhere there was some type of waiver for military trained pilots Have some friends who are retired Air Force and only have about 3000 hours or so after 20 years. They are all fighter type pilots who generally don't get that much time. Transport/cargo/tanker types would obviously get more time. I could be wrong on the waiver, but never hurts to ask.

There's no "waiver." There is a rule making process in the works to create the regulations that will govern the new ATP law. The federal law goes into effect this August whether or not the FAA has published regulations. The gist of the proposal is a complete revamp of the ATP. Part of it is that military pilots will be able to obtain a restricted ATP at 750 hours TT. This restricted ATP would only be valid as a FO. There's also a very specific educational requirement for taking the ATP written proposed that every future pilot will have to take. It's unclear if the airlines or private schools will be the ones offering it.

On the ERJ side CLE should be pretty attainable, if not during training you'll be able to get it shortly after. ORD and IAH are the most senior bases at the moment.

Over the past year, new hires on the CRJ side have gone to all four bases. IAD has traditionally been the junior base, but lately almost all have been sent to ATL. It shouldn't take too long to get what you want if you don't get it out of class.

If anyone has experience with other Regional training pipelines, how would you rank ExpressJet's? I've heard good things about it.

I'd be willing to say you have a 99.99% chance of getting CLE if thats what you want. 2 from the Mar 25 went to IAH, and 8 went to ORD (not sure why since they both have tons of FO's), 4/8 class all went to EWR or CLE and the same will likely happen to the 4/22 class.

First May class was suspose to start last Monday (5/6/13.). Heard there was only about 10 people scheduled (normally they have about 15 or so in a class). No idea how many showed up.

FWIW, this story has popped up with every new hire class we've had so far this spring. "Heard only X showed up .... " Based on the seniority list, it looks like every class has been full with 14-18.
