I've been reading articles on a pilot shortage for about a decade now. Have yet to see it coming. Kit Darby, as ShyGuy mentioned, makes a living on selling it. Hell, I even had the same thing sold to me by the snake oil salesmen at flight schools a month after 9/11. Forgive me if I say "I'll believe in a pilot shortage when the majors are running short on resumes and can't find enough people to start class."
