It could also be that ALPA is pressuring AMR for a public fleet plan! History tells us that what you said is likely and I have read the document but it could also be that they are putting pressure on management. Next Thursday in court ALPA, the creditors and management will have to talk to the judge. More light should shine out of this, remember that AMR told the UCC that American Eagle Airlines will provide the majority of the lift under the American Eagle name. ALso another thing to remember is that a CRJ700 is not considered a large RJ and that could be what they plan to replace the ERJs with. I am skeptical as well but we can only work with the information we got, or lack there of.

Could be. It's all a big unknown. Everything that's said here in these forums is pure speculation. No one here knows.
One of the reasons I say that is because even if a post here is made by someone who is actually upper management, and they absolutely know what the plan is today, it can all change tomorrow.
The only plan that anyone can ever be sure of is one that has already been executed. And even that will be tenuous.
So my philosophy is enjoy the ride or get off. Sometimes getting off seems appealing. Sometimes.
I realize that if I had started flipping burgers with McDonalds over three decades ago instead of flying, I could be a senior manager by now with great pay, awesome benefits, my own franchises, and possible my own plane. Maybe a light twin or an older turbo prop? Meh... Whatever. It is what it is.
