Question Non-Rev/Jump Seat to Marsh Harbour, Bahamas

I'm heading to Marsh Harbour at the end of April. Does anybody have any good tips about which is the best way to get there non-reving. At this time all the flights have seats but most of the flying into MHH is on a SAAb (silver) or Dash 8-300 (Bahamas Air) with a few AE 145's going in and I'm worried they might fill up to capacity closer to the time.

Airport options are West Palm Beach (United/Silver), Fort Lauderdale (United/Silver), Orlando (United/Silver), Nassau (Bahamas), Miami (Eagle).

I have travel privaleges on United, Delta and US Airways. However looking at the United non-rev travel site it doesn't show the MCO-MHH flight operated by silver but when I go to united.com it is there. What's that all about?

Does anybody know if the flights are typically full? I assume the SAAB has a flight deck jumpseat I can jumpseat on?

I'm heading on a sailing/diving trip and so we'll have proper luggage to check which I usually don't like to do non-reving. We are also on a schedule and we need to pick up the boat on a saturday so we are leaving on Thursday to give us a couple of days to get there, but we have to get there.

I'd appreciate tips from anybody with any experience non-reving to MHH or any Silver pilots that want to pitch in about load factors or what to expect etc.

Cheers

I'm not really much help, but have heard that SAABs are usually weight limited so not sure how useful the cockpit jumpseat will be. I know a lot of SAAB drivers are on here so maybe they will chime in or you can go on the Silver thread and ask some questions.

Eagle takes a 145 into MHH?

This I gotta see!

As for the SAAB...the few times I've been into and out we've had seats to spare.

We also to North Eluthra (sp) as well in the 145 from MIA. MHH is not really a big deal...? We do most of them pretty much daily, NAS, GGT, MHH, FPO, we even trek all the way to LRM in the DR from MIA in the 145.

Yep. Surprising how many of our connections are listed to AE destinations in the Bananas on the changeover. Not sure if the EMB's have any weight restrictions due to Runways as I'm considering a trip out there myself soon for Scuba and wondering about jumpseating if necessary.

Just LRM when its a 140. Anytime its a 140 just run, because it is ZERO fuel weight limited all the time when full and blocks the JS.

The 145 never, they are all Heavy weight mod, so its rare to see them limited. DO NOT EVER TRY TO GOTO EYW!!!!!!!!!!

Save yourself a headache and enjoy your vacation on time vs a day late...buy a ticket! At least to Marsh Harbor and back to somewhere on the mainland.

You know what...I had that mixed up...MHH is pretty damn nice.

ELH on the other hand...I REALLY wanna see the 145 there sometime. I know it's not short by any means but damn is it "rustic" looking!

Yeah all very well but as you know we don't know which of the connecting airports to Marsh we'll get to.
