You make very good points as well. And you are correct, this ties into longevity transition. However, ours is substantially different as we were all under one seniority list. The merger of our lists wasn't decided by the line pilots, and the way it was put together wasn't even put together by a pilot but rather by a lawyer. So much of this career seems to be luck. Nothing we can do about that part. I only applied to and got hired by one regional, and went there because my airline friends told me to so I could upgrade the quickest and get out. I feel horrible for all of those affected (pretty much everyone at all three airlines) but especially for the MEM guys that made it their home.
