Well how big was Colgan? 600 pilots? So that's basically all the Colgan pilots. Plus, the chatter back then from the 9L guys was "Oh, we're content on our planes, we don't want bigger jets." Yet, once the first vacancy came out, the majority of the new ATL -900 Captains were Colgan. Go figure.

So shyguy just for you I pulled up the last 3 way seniority list from the new Pinnacolaba mix. It currently shows 2168 active pilots at the company. Of those 2168 pilots 312 are premerger colgan pilots. That is half the original pilot group ( so half, let me repeat that half of the colgan pilots already quit!) and that ratio of pilots is 14.3% of the new pilot group. Of the 312 active pilots there are 168 colgan pilots that are captains currently showing on the seniority list. I know 3 people that have quit since that seniority list was published on april 1st. So 163 out of 2168 is 7.7% of the pilot group are colgan captains. Also, since you keep saying that all the 900 captains slots are colgan I added up all the colgan pilots and you know how many there are ? 12 total on the entire list 12?! That is .05% of the pilot group that is currently active. The most junior colgan 900 ca was hired in June of 04. So the Colgan guys did not make it out that great as you keep posting.
Doesn't matter what seat I hold as I haven't seen an airplane in forever!

Really? And who do you fly for? Any legacy carrier? Fact, you make less today compared to your 2000 contract. So you are also working for subpar wages. And you make it sound like I had my choosing of the litter. None of the legacies were hiring at the end of 2011. Only Spirit and VX were hiring.

And no, I don't have another screenname here. If you haven't noticed, I'm vocal about what I believe and do not have to hide behind another screenname to say it. I have only one here.

Way to not reply to Saabs who totally called you out with facts and hard evidence. You do know what that is, don't you? I understand it's been a while since you've actually seen any facts, versus the made up reality that exists in your mind, but maybe you should read what he wrote.

If the SSI does work out and they don't park the 200s (DL has maintained those things are gone AND they will not be taking all the allowable 76 seaters), things may work out very well for those at 9E.

Perhaps he is worried about having made a bad move in hindsight with the very iffy future of VX. Or, considering his other posts in other threads, his wording and sarcasm tends to elicit maximum butthurt wherever and whatever he posts. Maybe some of both?
The second part is accurate, but the bold portion is no way. The last 1.5 years of my life have been the best. Even if it tanks, I'll always cherish my time at the best employer I've worked at so far. I have plenty of time in aviation, so I'm not worried.

I can only write so much on an iPhone. At the time I was in a van on the way to a hotel. Had some food, and now on a computer. Not everyone can respond to everybody at once. Here's my reply.

Yes, this is the case *now.* May 2013. My reference was in a different timeframe, end of 2011 to be exact. "Plus, the chatter back then from the 9L guys was "Oh, we're content on our planes, we don't want bigger jets." Yet, once the first vacancy came out, the majority of the new ATL -900 Captains were Colgan. Go figure." This was around when the first mother of all vacancies was out, and it included the closing of the Mesaba Saab bases and the closing of the BOS US Airways express flying. There was a smaller (one or two) of these and then a big vacancy realignment. This was still when the Qs were around and so were the Colgan Saabs. The talk was the Q guys would stick with those and had no interest for the RJ9s. Yet, once that huge realignment award came out, the majority of the ATL -900 awards (as in more than 50%) were Colgan guys. And of course, Q400 captains were mostly Colgan because of their 193 quota. A few XJ/9E pilots did get the Q CA slot once the 193 quota was filled, but very very few. Now today, in May 2013, of course it's not the same. The Saabs are gone, the Qs too, and the ATL-900. So your analysis is not surprising, because it is a harsh reality of today, not end of 2011. There are less jobs available. Make no mistake, the only reason 9E hasn't furloughed involuntarily so far is because attrition has been very high with guys bailing off a sinking ship.

Yep, I did work for Omni. After 3 plus years on furlough, I did . I don't go ripping on my ex coworkers. I believe you work with some at virgin. I do hope everything works out the way you want. You do know aviation is a very small community. If I was you I would tone it down. Just some friendly advice.

That's what I keep telling this guy but he won't listen. Aviation is a small community, a very small community. Pilots have long memories. They don't easily forget.

There is a lot of anger here, everyone needs to relax a little. Life is short . The PNCL pilots got screwed by big brother, there really wasn't much they could do. it is a lot easier to say they should have voted no, but until you or I are in that position not really our jobs to tell them how to vote. I wish they voted no but easier to say that from the outside looking in.

Rant over

Flysooner, I would heed this advice too. Many of these current or former Pinnacle pilots you **** on WILL or ALREADY Do have influence over hiring boards at a major/legacy/LCC. Not too hard to throw a resume of an OU graduate that got hired on at Eagle in late 2011 with a pansy ass blog into the circular file.
