Purdue is right. This pilot group is soft. I had faith that we could do what was necessary when the time was right. That faith is fading.
Don't misunderstand me. The hard part is not walking when we are told to. It is making the decision that you aren't going to take the path of least resistance. Go ahead, drop the brake to stay on time. After all it makes you more money right? Or is it that you just don't want to get that phone call as to why you're late? Most don't want to take the hit to their wallet. I am leaving at least 5 hours on the table every month by not helping out. We are never going to make progress if management thinks that 51% are happy with things as they are. Why don't more see that the answer isn't going to come from the Teamsters? It isn't going to come from the NMB either. AA management couldn't get back to the table fast enough when the pilots showed them who runs Barter Town. Nothing special here. Fly the book and do your job. Only your job. But that's all been said before and nothing changes. I will keep doing what I do and hope that others catch on. But my true effort will be in getting out of here. After all, that's what Bedford wants anyway. |
Where is the next base after ORD for the new 175s? DFW or MIA?
|
For all those people not considering coming to RP. upgrade time, work rules, bases, whatever.... Think about it. If you get hired into the AE flying you will be based in ORD with great seniority for at least the next four years. The rest of the FO's cant swap certificates. The rest of us have to wait for the type of schedules and QOL you'll get. Sure this place "sucks" but they all do. Don't listen to these "sjs" morons. I wish I would've got hired at this time!

karma the next Republic e175 base for AE flying will be DFW. they are keeping it a secret from the ae pilos. All L-AE CRJ's from ORD will be moved out of ORD to the east coast and 10 EMB's from L-AE ORD will be gone by february. Now if only Republic can get ASPEN qualification they can get some LAX flying also.

Not quite. Through an FAA procedure and training all pilots would be eligible to fly on either cert in any base. Eventually the Shuttle cert will go away.
Bedford's been promising that kind of stuff since the 170s came online and the FAA has shot him down at every turn. Heck when they set up the Republic Certificate they tried cutting and pasting the CHQ manual and the FAA said no way. That was part of the reason starting the Republic certificate was such a freakin goat rope and the 170s ended up at Shuttle. If you go to Republic believing the FAA is going to allow bidding across certificates without initial training then you will be very dissappointed. It would be like allowing United and US Airways to bid across because they are both a part of the same alliance. Will never happen. Count on it. More Bedford Propaganda. Bedford tried to get the FAA to approve common SOCs and maintenance across the 3 certificates and the FAA has consistently said no. However what you will likely see at all operations with multiple certificates is a move to consolidate them into as few certificates as possible due to the horrendous cost of running multiple certificates. Now that the AA and CO scope has been relaxed to allow the larger RJs, the reason for creating this multiple certificate mess has gone away. Merging these certificates takes time, but will eventually happen. Its all about cost, and accountants hate duplication. |
So what travel benefits will the ORD AE 175 guys get? Will it just be AA?
Surely there will also be movement on the S5 side with guys upgrading over to RW now? |
Never mind.

I'm not sure what you mean by AA travel benefits, but if you're asking will you have access to jetnet and 24 hour check-in, D2s, D1s, etc, I highly doubt it. |
ask the skywest and express jet guys, they are in LAX and DFW. They would know best.

Surely there will also be movement on the S5 side with guys upgrading over to RW now? It depends on your base. You will get whatever codeshare operates out of your base plus Frontier and maybe United. All RP employees used to get United benefits but it changed, and I've heard UAL has gone back to offering benefits to all UAL employees. For instance, CHQ SDF employees get UA, US, and DL because all of those operations operate out of SDF. |
