Compass

Last I heard, they are still awaiting final certifcate approval from the FAA. POI indicated to a fellow crew memeber that might occur in February 2007. 36 EMB-175s are supposedly on order for the operation with deliveries starting at some undisclosed time in 2007.
Seeing as how it is NWA, none of the above may be true and it is a certainty that it is subject to change.

That was the plan when they were intending to operate under the Independance Air certificate.
Due to delays, that certificate actually expired, so Compass has now been in the new certificate process which results in the February '07 approval rumor due to FAA/DOT red tape etc. Shame to have spent the 2 million on that certificate to let it expire, but again, par for the course for NWA.

Compass will be up and running next spring. They have already sent out letters to furloughed pilot asking them their preference of Compass capt or mainline fo. I'm sure people off the street (Jetblue types) will be banging down the door to fly an RJ at $37 an hour!

So, they are using mainline furloughees? Kind of sounds like a mid-titanic to me? I wonder if they will have a flow through.

There will be a flowthrough agreement to start with, and then Republic Holding will throw NWA a bunch of money, and they will then fly for Chautauqua, lose their flow through, just like the guys at "Mid-Atlantic"

Wow, someone doesn't understand the Mid Atlantic situation at all. But it sure is fun to yell and stomp your feet, isn't it? No MDA J4J pilot has lost any recall rights (I assume that is what you meant by flow through), and many are returning to Airways as per the J4J protocol.
