Default American Eagle

Anyone have interview information on Eagle? Does Eagle still do those intrusive physicals?

Yes. I interviewed several years ago, and a few folks were DQ'ed during the physical, and a few were DQ'ed later. Four or Five that I know of that didn't pass the medical.

What are some of the problems those who were DQ'ed have, if you can recall?

I interviewed in october.

-Fast the night before for 12 hours (water only, no food)
-Full vision test - must be corrected to 20/20, cant have contacts
-full hearing test
-EKG
-2 urine samples
-draw 3 viles of blood
-physical (face to face with doc or nurse)

they test your red blood cell count, cholesterol, a bunch of other levels.

pretty much if you pass your interview, the medical is no big deal they just want to make sure nothing is horribly wrong with you

Blood Pressure and vision (they want 20/100 or better uncorrected...this is the old FAA vison requirement that changed in 1996). Both got sent home immediately.

If you are a current military pilot, you probably have no worries as long as your joints are still good. For civilians, the AA mediacl is much more stringent than FAA.

That's what they told us. It was several years ago though, so you might want to find the current gouge on that.

The FAA eliminated the 20/100 requirement about 10 years ago, but several majors still required it, including AA, UA, and I think DAL. (the eagle physical is the mainline AA physical)

When I was hired about 2 years ago my vision was (and still is) worse than 20/100 uncorrected. As long as you can correct it to 20/20 you are golden.
