You claim to be an active Eagle pilot yet don't know that 824 guys are already getting class dates? I'm starting to believe what others on here say about you.

As of today, NONE of the 824's have class dates assigned. They are in process of filling out PRIA's. Expect class dates in NOV.

So, I stand correct.

RJ, you're something else, man. I feel sorry for your FO's that have to listen to your doom and gloom negativity. You've got a level 5 thunderstorm hovering over you at all times. Enjoy your life at AE.

I'd rather fly with a realist like him than some rainbows, sunshine, and unicorns moron who believes in a "pilot shortage" and "hiring at majors".

Thanks, Sometimes people just don't want to listen to the truth.
And they know I bring it....

It's not fun flying with people who complain all the time regardless of whether what they're complaining about is true or not. It creates a toxic work environment. Some discussions are better had over drinks after work and not in the cockpit.

He believes that the mainlines are not hiring? That all the hiring projections are a hoax!

This just seems to be the thing to say. Mostly because people have heard it said over and over again, not because they actually believe it or have data to back it.

The majors are already hiring.

Lack of new pilots coupled with retirement numbers seem to support a lack of warm bodies in the next 10 years or so.

Obviously anything can happen economy wise or with a 9/11 style event but at this time things look to be trending towards the positive.

The majors will most likely never be canceling flights because they cant get enough applicants but if you want to work at a place like that you probably have a better chance in the next decade or so than any other previous time in airline history.

It's amazing to me that pilots, a workgroup that is very left-brained, would continue to deny supporting facts because they've been hearing some guy spout off that "there never has been and never will be."

The last of the 31 flow throughs are getting their offers for the Nov 20th class it appears. The first of the 824 could get class dates soon. Maybe for the Nov 20 class?
