I was invited to an Eagle interview for tomorrow and they put me on a standby status. With only two flights a day leaving RSW, needless to say, I didn't get on. The lady at the gate told me they were overbooked by 4 and the next flight in the afternoon was worse. She advised me not even to wait around. Anyone else ever experience this?? I tried to get a hold of recruiting but no answer. I sent an email so I hope they respond. IF they reschedule, I am afraid it will be during the class I already have scheduled with PSA. I'm glad I am already hired but was looking forward to the Eagle interview for, at minimum, the experience.
Did you ever hear anything back from them? |

It was an observation I disagreed with.....I was told my airline has ~100 applications on file about a month ago with plans to hire 30/month. Pretty sure this is the case throughout this section of the industry.
Regionals are not filling classes right now. That's the problem right there. You and many others have become the conduit for a lie. I doubt any turbine part 121 operator has ever had 100 resumes on file. Don't spread misinformation. None of them are having trouble filling classes. Keep telling yourself these things over and over again until you realize how foolish they sound. |
Eagle sure is having trouble. They haven't come close to their target numbers for the year that they publically announced.

They wouldn't be walking people rudely out of interviews if they had no problems. |
"But my friend who works at mesagopublic told me they had no one show up to a turboprop class earlier this year"
It's never happened and never will, especially when so many pilots are underemployed. |

None of them are having trouble filling classes. Keep telling yourself these things over and over again until you realize how foolish they sound. You doubt that ANY P121 turbine operator has ever had 100 resumes on file? So......Delta - a P121 turbine opeartor - has never had 100 resumes on file? Or are you trying to limit the statement to Regionals - of which then you'd say that SkyWest has never had 100 resumes on file either? |
While they aren't having trouble finding people to interview, the average candidate in the pool has dropped in experience. In addition, many applicants are interviewing at multiple regional carriers at the same time.
I know for a fact that companies are having no-show/no-calls on the first day of indoc. Not necessarily due to lack to available pilots, but more because pilots are again able to be a bit more discriminating in who they work for. |
