Upgrade time update at different Regionals
#71
OP: stop worrying about "upgrade times"...and readers looking to get their tip wet in the regionals looking for quick upgrades.
If you know anything about aviation, then you know you don't know anything. Upgrades are based on current need and supply vs. demand...and if that company will even be here in these quoted upgrade times.
Rule of thumb - don't go to a company where people love to work = heavy on the top end. Don't go to a place giving you $$ to stay = no one wants to stay. Don't go to a place that everyone hates you = PSA. Don't base an upgrade on a flow that you're just putting your board in the water when the waves have been hitting hard = Compass...and don't base your decision on what people say on APC = they are probably either unhappy trolls or they just want to steer you to the bottom of their company list so they can move a spot closer to their "quick upgrade".
Chose the work place that you agree with how they operate, how they maintain their aircraft/their dispatch reliability. Obviously with that comes comfort and QOL...yet when you venture for the quick upgrade, you're playing the red or black on the roulette table.........but in aviation its red/black/blue/green/yellow and try another career.

If you're an active Compass guy and know your numbers are accurate then I can't argue - but I'm speculating that it's not the number you state based on acquired knowledge.

Where should someone work?
Don't go to where people like to work.....skywest/horizon/AWAC/compass
Don't go anywhere with a signing bonus...Eagle/rah/silver/c5
Don't go where people hate you(who cares)....Gojet/PSA/Pinnacle/Mesa
Don't go anywhere with a flow...Compass/eagle again.
So according to your post the only acceptable destinations would be XJT, Piedmont, or TSA.
It's a good thing you also told them in the same paragraph not to listen to anyone on APC.......

What did the guys at PSA and GoJet do that makes them so 'hated'? I honestly don't know.

He meant that, don't go to any place for some specific reason, like flow, upgrade, etc.
Just go somewhere you can live in base or close home. That's the only way the person might find some QOL.

I don't think they have that many remaining. They had just over 300 in total - 60 left in the first round a while ago, this past flow was around 130 (rumored that DL wanted more and TSH said no)...which I think DL just wants to get the flow over with because they hate it...but with just that it's down to just over 100 after this flow and by what I read - Compass now has over 500 pilots?
